Dear Gus & Baby #2,

After I dropped Gus at school today, I picked up Mary and we met Bryan in Rogers to shoot a few videos. When we finished, we turned around and came home.

Yiayia picked Gus up from school and will get him to school tomorrow morning, which was incredibly nice. Not that we don't enjoy our time with Gus, but non-stop parenting is hard. Breaks keep us sane.

Dear Gus & Baby #2,

We added an interview to our schedule this morning in Frisco, which put us behind in getting to Fort Worth, and our interviewee had a hard-stop at 3:30. We raced into a windy downtown Fort Worth, set up, interviewed our guy, broke down equipment, and reloaded the van in an hour. It's the fastest shoot we've ever done -- stressful, but we're proud of ourselves.

Bryan headed back to Frisco to get some drone footage and photos at a site tomorrow, but Mary and I got in my truck and drove home.

Dear Gus & Magnus,

We had multiple shoots today -- interviews and a skit. It was a long day, but it felt good to be on the road again with my crew. We finally wrapped and got loaded around 6.45, had a sit down dinner together, then I hit the road for home in my truck, making it back about 11.30pm, but then I was too amped up to sleep, so I read. Then I tried to go to bed, but after lying there for another hour, I finally got back up. Anyway, I finally went to sleep at 3am, I think.

Dear Gus & Magnus,

Today we filmed a script in which I poured (cold) coffee on my friend Drew's face.

We joined the Cerratos for dinner at the Grummers. I mentioned that the Grummers are moving to Hill Road, but I don't think I mentioned that the Cerratos bought the lot next to them and are planning to build a house there. Meanwhile, Gus's friend William's family is moving into the Grummers' current house. We hate to lose the Grums, but we're pretty excited about the Calhoun's joining us on Ridgeway.

Dear Gus & Magnus,

Will snapped this one during filming this morning. After we wrapped, we hit the road for Wichita.

Instead of going to dinner with the crew, I decided to see if the pain the massage therapist put me through improved my hamstring, so I went for a long jog/walk. Lo and behold, I do think she made it better. I've also been better about stretching. I spent an hour and a half sweating it out in the Wichita heat.

Dear Gus & Magnus,

We needed a house for our video shoot today, so Bryan and Will stayed in this Airbnb for a couple of days. It was a nice change of pace to shoot in a house instead of an office or a job site. Still, it was a long day. (And I was glad to have my own space at the hotel.)

Overland Park, Kansas. 8.22.2023 - 4.12pm.

Dear Gus & Magnus,

The Video Team left Little Rock this morning and made a stop in Rogers to interview Kurtis for a Summit video. After lunch we packed up and continued on to Overland Park, Kansas, where we'll film tomorrow. I'm about to have a jam-packed few days. Already ready to be back home.
