First he texted. “What are the odds you’re actually free tonight?”
Then he called. “Hear that? It’s the sound of nothing. Sounds nice, doesn’t it?”
Then his doorbell rang, finding you standing in the hallway holding two bags of more food than necessary. He had finally convinced you through his drawn out pouts, constant sparkling eyes into the camera, and even his delightfully whiny voice over the phone’s speaker to come to his side for the night. Just the two of you alone for the first time in so long, you were sitting at the table in almost awkward silence.
If you could comprehend the man from over the table, ignore the food growing cold and only see his bright face trying to hide the sly smile— you’d see how beloved you were to Subin. From being friends in high school, to following one another to college, words couldn’t form what you wanted to actually say to him. Then again, Subin isn’t much for chatting.
Candles blowing with the air from the vents, the scent of the food and light air freshener, along with his perfume in your nose. You had asked for a time like this so often that it felt like you were in a dream, pinching yourself beneath the table and out of his sight.
Dinner finished, table clean, and his arm finally taking its place on the back of the sofa as he sat down closer to you than normal. “Is this too strange?”
You knew better than to ruin such a moment. But his lips looked so smooth, breath wavering over your face as you closed in to seal the first kiss ever shared between you and him. Mouths moving in tandem, the feeling of his palm moving to cup your cheek made your heartbeat run shallow as if your own body was attempting to listen to his own organ beating in his chest. Everything in sync, his soft hair between your fingers at the nape of his neck and his soft breaths filling your lungs, Subin was the first to pull away.
Sucking in all of the air he could find around him, his chest puffed and his back arched backwards into the soft pillow of the couch, his eyes set on your frame. Hands clasped in your lap, you awaited his words. Anything— a sound or gentle voice, but he only smiled.
“Do you know how long I’ve waited to do that?” Your voice groggy, still thinking about his deep kiss like he, too, had been waiting years for the most possible silence to give you the right time to release your love for one another like now.
“Do you know how many times I’ve thought about doing that, but was too scared?”
“Then do it as many times as you’d like, Subin.”
His face enclosed on your own, hands taking place on your waist to pull you into his body as he let his back fall onto the cushions of the sofa. With you on top of him and his arms holding you close, your lips locked back together in a heated motion. Tongue swiping, lips overlapping, moans coming from the backs of your throats: it was like all of the tension that had lasted years released in a single minute.
Your bodies clashed in ways that were new to the two of you, minds enthralled by each other and not focusing on the surroundings. Lip pulled between his teeth, the rattling of the front door’s knob followed by the turning of the key in the lock startled the two of you enough to separate on impact. Forms pressing into the dorm, your bodies sat on opposite sides of the couch with bright red cheeks and diverted eyes.

Serene, his lips pressed against your cheek, holding them to your skin while basking in the tranquil moment. The cold ring linked through his bottom lip sent a chill up your spine, the accessory persistent, accelerating to your senses.
It nearly drove you mad the way his teeth would always maneuver the silver ring back and forth in thought. Always a jittery flutter in your chest when his tongue lapped over the small loop, a simple motion created by the muscle that made you shiver.
The feeling of his warm lips pulling from your skin brought you back to reality. His cheeks were flustered with a faint shade of pink, hand wrapped around your wrist with two fingers perfectly aligned with your radial artery to feel the pulsing heartbeat racing from your thoughts.
“What are you thinking about?” he smiled a toothless smile, blinking behind his glasses as the light from the dusk-filled sky outside shimmered through the living room’s window. “Why is your heart beating so fast right now?”
His long hair drifted to the side when his head tilted, a mocked expression on his face. The color of your face mimicked his, the blush immediately noticed by him as he let out a light chuckle. Pulling at his hold on your wrist, your hands covered your face, his laughter only growing at your suddenly shy state.
“Is it me?” he asked. Teeth nibbling at his lip, the same wave of butterflies from your memory lingered in your gut, watching the ring glide against his white teeth before a small pout took over. “It is me. What are you thinking?”
Your hands slowly lowered from covering your face, eyes dull in attempts to hide the tight feelings rocking your entire form. Neither of you had gotten to this moment yet, linked together with a force of sheer passion, an admiring ambiance. No name or label, Hanse had been your person for months, but you felt more.
“Fine.” he spoke gently.
Pulling at your wrist with little force, your face moved closer to his. Emphatic, he didn’t like waiting and knew the right timings and places to pull something from the deepest part of your mind.
His cold ring connected with your skin again, pressing his lips firmly beneath your jawline. The accessory made your eyes squeeze shut, the kiss pulling a full breath from your lungs in a gasp. He was there, mollifying any source of worry you had built inside of you. The silk of his mouth guided you closer to him, your arms wrapping securely around his neck to straddle his waist. His grip around you was gentle, fingertips tracing the exposed skin where your shirt lifted.
The ridges of his fingers pulled at your skin, gripping you tighter. Retreating from your neck, his lips parted to take in a breath, eyes watery when he blinked up at you.
“Tell me.” he whispered, voice shaky.
“H-How do you feel about this?” you asked him, his brows raising from the question.
His nose brushed against your chest, head falling into the crook of your neck to embrace you tighter. Forehead turning hotter from your heated body, the coolness of his breath brought bumps to your skin, his own breathing unsteady and nervous. You felt his face shift, teeth sinking into his bottom lip once more.
Words weren’t his exact language, his tongue running a slick strip across your collarbone pulling a moan from you. Fingertips drawing circles into your lower back, your bent knees dug into the sofa. Entranced by him like a trap holding a piece of cheese, you were the mouse that took the bait. Now stuck inside the metal clasp struggling to survive, at least you had the cheese.
Your fingers clasped at the base of his neck released to run along the soft skin, his hair lacing between your fingers. The fine locks smelled of a sweet scent from his conditioner, the smell filling your nostrils and calming you.
“You.” you released the word with an exhale. His eyes flickered in the sunset. Glowing, orange light filled into the room through the thin curtains over the window. “You’re why my heart beats so fast. I like you. Too much. You’re clouding all of my thoughts”
He didn’t even take in your words before his lips were colliding with yours. Mouths moving in tandem, he pressed your chest into his. Fingers running over your spine, his palm pressed forward to arch your back, a moan coming from him when your tongue ran over his bottom lip. The cold ring connected with your warm muscle, nose inhaling a quick breath. He smiled into the kiss, your heartbeat so hard in your chest that it reverberated into his own ears being so close, listening to it beat rapidly each time your tongue crossed over his lip ring.
“I can tell.” He was witty, as always. You shook your head at him with a laugh.
He began to toy with you, lips moving with yours harder until you felt your skin turning plump. Tongues overlapping, your hold on his hair loosened to glide your hands around his neck again, taking his jawline into your hold to steady him. Thumbs pressed into his cheeks, the smooth skin against the pads of the digits held a light coat of sweat running down his temples, heated from the exchange. Passionate, the kiss was filling the cold spot in your heart, an answer arriving between both of you about your relationship.
Your lips felt swollen when he finally pulled away, head resting back against the couch as he grinned at you. A laugh vibrated his chest adjacent to yours, rocking you forward to place his hands on your thighs. You could feel your body tingling, aligned with him in a beatific way, his eyes matching yours was a symbol of true love.
“Then I think we’re gonna have a problem-” his cheeky grin melted your confused look, eyes flashing with a sense of affection. “-because I’m in love with you.”

The lights were so dim you could hardly see, following the intense but faint music playing down the hall. The glass door was heavy, the handle cold on your fingers as you pulled it opened. The song blared inside the private gym, the floor slightly vibrating from the beat of the rock music.
"Hey!" you yelled out, voice going unheard from the rowdiness of the music mixed with the clinking of weights.
You pushed into the wide room some more trying to find who was responsible for the noise at four in the morning. Having been awoken in your hotel room half an hour ago, your eyes were turning red from little sleep, hand running over your face tiredly as you searched for the culprit.
"Dude," you whined, a man's back to you as he sat at the weight machine. The group of ten-pound weights lifted in sync with the wire attached to the handle in his hand, his arm muscles defined and distracting as he slowly released them back down. Turning around to face you, the sweat glistening on his chest made your eyes grow wide, his smirk tenacious.
"Sorry, I didn't hear you come in," he said sleekly, standing from the bench, stretching. Pulling his phone from the bag beside him, he lowered the volume to his Bluetooth speaker, finally able to hear what was happening around him.
"I'm surprised you could hear anything at all. I could hear every word of your music from down the hall."
"Oh, so you're the gym's neighbor," he said with a cocked brow, his implications confusing you. "Seems like you have bad luck this week."
"It's the worst luck to get the room next to the gym on the private floor," he said, taking a seat back onto the bench, only this time he was facing you directly. "You get the stuck up guys that like to blast music and work out at four in the morning giving you a very loud wake-up call." his tongue stuck out from his mouth, panting like a dog as he tried to catch his breath from the workout session.
"I'm sorry?" you asked, head tilted as you watched more sweat pour off his body.
Taking a large gulp of his water, his Adam's apple bobbed, making your gaze fall to the floor. He smiled at your nervousness, his hand pushing a few sweaty strands of his hair back off his forehead.
Eyeing you like a trophy, you awkwardly cleared your throat, legs pulling you a set back from the man.
"I'm Seungwoo." he grinned, offering you his hand.
You hesitated. "No offense, but I'm way too tired to be making new acquaintances right now." his laughter was crackled by his hoarse voice, hand slowly moving to tap on his knee before he took another drink of water.
"Fair game." he nodded, offering you a tooth-less smile instead. "I'll keep it down so you can rest your pretty head." his wink was subtle, your body shifting you from the charming man in seconds as you quickly escaped the gym. His musty, cologned scent lingered around you when you bolted into your hotel room, shutting the door and pressing your back against it with a huff of air.
Minutes passed, your eyes shut tight with the image of the man and his flexing muscles engrossing your mind, overtaking all of your thoughts. You took in a deep breath, a deep chuckle just outside of your hotel room as Seungwoo passed by.
"See you tomorrow morning, darling." you could hear the emphatic tone in his voice, his scent stronger when the breeze of air made its way under your door.
And tomorrow came fast. The clock hit four in the morning on the dot, the same rock music piercing into your hotel room. You sighed loudly, pulling your pillow over your head to block out the sound but it didn't prevail the vibrations being sent through the wall.
Standing from your bed, you pulled some sweat pants over your bare legs, growling in anger as you gripped your room key in your fist and headed out. The music didn't seem to bother anyone else on the floor, their rooms lined with 'do not disturb' signs on their doors. Walking back down the hall towards the gym, even the glass door was quivering when your hand reached for it.
Seungwoo was laid out on a bench on the opposite side from the morning before, lifting a large weight over his chest. From the change of position, something he seemed to do on purpose, he could see you walk down the hallway, through the skinny, glass windows. His spot was secluded from being seen from the outside, making his grin intrepid when you finally stood before him.
Thin shirt over your torso and large pants around your lower-half that would slide down from every little movement, you were his eye candy for today.
"Back again?" he asked, noting your exhausted expression. "Grown attached to me or something, Y/N?"
"Very funny." you shook your head, brows furrowing. "How do you know my name?"
"I've been coming to this hotel for years. Befriending the staff gives you a lot of free information about the attractive people that happen to be in the room beside the gym." his lip pulled at the side, his little investigation, though illegal, giving him the upper hand.
His compliment slipped past you, your jaw slacking at him prying into your personal file through the use of an employee. With an angered look, you spun on your heels. Seungwoo slipped the bar of the weights back into their hold, rushing to his feet as he gripped at your wrist. Pulling you to turn around, he wore a pout on his lips.
"I'm sorry." his voice was gentle, the music now lower than when you walked in. "I didn't mean it in a creepy way. I never got your name last night, I was just curious, is all."
You could hear his sincerity in his voice, his hand gently unwrapping from your wrist to slide into your hand. His palm was sweaty, covered in powder from lifting the weights for the last few minutes. His eyes were dark under the lighting, the touch soft against your hand genuine.
He lifted your hand up, jerking your body closer to his. With his scent so strong in your nose, you stared at him with persistent eyes, waiting for his next move. You were drawn to him, his alluring words and dominant presence enough to guide your face up to his. Stealing a kiss from him first, your hand placed against his robust chest.
Breath hot in your mouth, his hand let go of yours, moving to your waist to pull you closer. You moaned against him, his body slowly walking you both backward within the secluded area he was working out in. The half wall in the middle of the gym was opened and blank, his larger body pressing you against the cold wall. Chills ran across your skin, the bumpy texture making him smirk against your lips, hips swaying into you.
You released a soft grunt, pulling from him as his head moved to trail kisses down your neck. Teeth grazing at your collarbone, his arms wrapped around your frame, lifting you up against the wall, your legs wrapping around his waist. His groans were muffled by your skin, the friction between his gym shorts and your sweats enough to make him grow hard. His breathing sped up, little effort to hold you against the wall when his eyes met yours again.
His hips collided with yours again, your moan loud in front of him. With a wicked smile, his phone clicked in his pocket, the top volume button turning the music up again so your sounds would be suppressed. Shaking your head at him in disbelief, he shrugged, pushing you up high on the wall as his lips captured yours.
"If you don't like this, tell me." his hoarse voice returned, crackled and rough.
"I do like this," you admitted to him, eyes blinking shut.
His hips dug against you faster, his own groans in your ear dulled by the blaring music. You slipped down the wall, legs like jello holding you up as he retrieved a condom from his bag.
"You have condoms in your gym bag?" you asked him with a laugh.
"Hey, I'll be honest." he cackled. "This is the first time I've ever gotten to use one."
Walking back over to you, his gym shorts slipped down his meaty thighs, your eyes water at the sight of his length. Stroking himself, he placed the condom on his tip, slowly rolling it down until he was fully covered. Your body shook just from the image of him, his hand gripping at your waist before he pushed your sweats and underwear down to your ankles enough to make you fall back against the wall. In one swift motion, he lifted you back up, your knees bent and body aligned with his cock. Slipping in gently, he let you adjust, the quick movements making your breathing hitch. Holding you close to him, you heart the beat of his heart, the rhythmic sound soon matching the gradual pace he moved inside of you.
Your eyes rolled into the back of your head as he ground into you, cock pushed until he filled you completely making you hold in a pleasure-filled scream. Your hands latched behind his neck, holding on for your life as he picked up your body and slammed you into the wall. With loud pants in your ear, he lifted to while slowly pulling out of you, thrusting back in at a rate you didn't deem possible. His groans and tight grip on your skin made your body coil around him, chests pressed together, hearts racing at the same speed.
His thrusts grew deeper, trying to slow himself down and savor your body. You were too caught up in the way he hissed when you clenched around him. His teeth sunk into his bottom lip as he pulled from you for the last time before heaving and bottoming out in you, his warm liquids filling the condom inside of you as you tightened around him, orgasm darting through every vein inside your body before cumming on his length.
Panting harder than before, he released you, removing the condom before pulling your underwear and pants gently back up your legs, doing the same to himself. He tossed the tied condom into his bag to discard in his own room, laughing at the concept of one of his friends seeing it inside the gym's trash. You fell back against the wall, his hand pushing stray strands of hair from your face before pressing a kiss to your cheek.

Shuffling awake, your body ached, the man beside you conscious but focused on the clouds in the sky. His hand moved to your waist without even a glance, the warm heat coming off his body soothing you. Placing his palm over your lower-abdomen to help ease the pain of your cramps, he blinked.
"Do you want some water?" he asked, his attention moving to you as he twisted onto his side.
With a short nod, he sat up, reaching over you to grab the glass from your bedside table. The water was room temperature, but it helped you relax into the mattress, now rehydrated. This wasn't your favorite time of the month, nor Hanse's, but it was inevitable. It's how mother nature works.
"I could feel you rutting in your sleep.," he said gently, body still faced in your direction as he propped his bent arm under his head. "What were you dreaming about."
You sighed, a light chuckle passing your lips as you stared at the ceiling. "You know I always have wet dreams on my period," you whined a little, pouting.
"Was it a good one?" he meddled, your glance to his side of the bed effective as he let out a cackle. "Really, what was going on? You seemed really riled up."
"You were really handsy with me."
"Was I?" he asked, eyebrow cocked. "I usually am." his wide grin made you laugh.
His hand moved up your stomach, across your breasts, and to your neck. Running the side of his thumb over your jawline, his irises grew darker than the night sky, leaning against you to press a kiss to your lips. Feeling his eyes flutter shut, you pulled him closer, deepening the kiss. Bound above you, your lips moved in sync, a faint moan passing your lips when his hand trailed over your collarbones, gripping at your breasts. Needy from the dream, you rocked up against his leg, the force enough to make him let out a shaken breath.
"Do you need me that bad?" he induced, pulling back to stare down at you.
The rousting made his chest rise and fall at a quick rate, giving in to the unannounced idea. Pressing his thigh up into you again, you stuttered on a response, head falling back against the pillow as he gave more pressure. Bouts of whines sounded from you, eyes rolling back as he persisted.
"Does it feel good?" he asked, your mind numbed from the sensation pooling between your legs.
Failing to reply coherently again, his movements shut off, head moving to the crook of your neck as his teeth found your skin. Hand flying up to his hair, you gripped at the long locks, a painful groan escaping him.
"No," he said, pushing your hand away from his hair. "You didn't answer me."
His teeth retracted, mouth sucking a small hickey at your clavicle. Bending his leg, his thigh pushed against you harder this time, a rush of arousal consuming your body. Quick calls of his name made him move faster, his lower body rocking against your hip as he let you ride against his thigh. The ache of your cramps lifted, your orgasm following it, hitting you quickly. Stuttering against your body, the friction he gave himself pushed out his own climax, both of you laying against one another attempting to catch your breath.
A thick blush on his cheeks formed during the fast session, your smile making him hide from embarrassment. Your body relaxed into the bed, slowly sitting up to head to the bathroom.
"I'll be here," he said softly, lips forming a tooth-less smile while he watched your legs almost give out as you stood, post-orgasm still running through you.
— Struggling to stay focused on your notes for an exam, Seungsik offers assistance.
DETAILS — [ PG | drabble | .655k ]
PAIRING — seungsik x gender-neutral! reader
GENRES — fluff, comfort
WARNINGS — mentions of being scared to fail a class!, established relationship
Bleak notes before you, your fingers had been at it for hours. A pen in your hand, careless notes written nearly straight from the textbook, you had long checked out mentally from studying. With a huge exam on its way - one not meant to be failed - it was easy to say you were in over your head.
But then again, Seungsik did always know what to say in these moments. His head poking past the doorway of your shared bedroom to check on you. “You know if you read over your notes a few minutes before you sleep, you’ll remember them naturally.”
“Oh, is that true?” His form pressed into the room, long legs carrying him to the bed where you laid on your stomach to read over the jumbled notes that were hardly intelligible in the first place.
“Yes, it’s been scientifically proven.” Every bone in the man’s body must be funny for him to be this unintentionally comedic.
“Then I’ll take the science route of things and wait another-” Your eyes met the digital clock past his frame, the man swaying in front of your view seconds before you could see the second number. “-give or take an hour before I try reading over them again.”
His smile ran wide, arms stretching out like he had been waiting on you to say the word ‘wait’ all evening. Seungsik was compelled by your studying habits, nearly called them cliché to the schooling world because you treated them with the utmost importance. But when you dipped into the bedroom all alone to study instead of using him as a partner, he knew you weren’t going to have the easiest time with the subject.
“Why can’t studying be easier?” You called out with a huff. Claiming that you had come this far just to chicken out now wasn’t an option, but it did sound nice.
“Because then everyone would pass the class with flying colors!” Seungsik’s hand scooped up your own, dragging your form to the edge of the bed and allowing your legs to swing over. Knees to just below his own, the man’s torso crouched before you until your eyes were aligned. “And where’s the fun without competition?”
“Education should never be a competition.”
“How do you explain honorary systems?”
“Unfair.”
The man couldn’t help but reel in laughter at your response, his body slowly turning and taking a seat next to you. Arm at your shoulder blades, the firmness of his arm pushed at the book and notes placed on top of the comforter to make room for you and him to lie back. Even with the man right at your side now, you understood his simplification of the exam would turn you restless for the night.
But restless was quite the opposite, if you were in Seungsik’s perspective. He had watched your eyelids fall and reopen in worry, saw your handwriting run messier over your shoulder when you didn’t know he snuck in an hour before now, and even watched as your eyes fought sleep in the current moment.
Lifting his arm at his side and clenching the one beneath you to pull you against his chest, he took the pages of notes from off the book and into his grasp. Sight trailing the work, notes not very well summed up from the textbook but good enough, his tongue started moving. Each word you wrote was spoken by the one you loved, going straight into your tired ears like a lullaby that you would be able to reference clearly in the morning despite your exhaustion now.
“And just think about it.” The man spoke gently into your ear, the last few lines of notes read off seconds before. “When you leave that building tomorrow after you’ve passed the test, I'll be waiting by the car to give you a reward.”

Evidently, you had fallen for the warlock. His traceable eyes always wandered around you, never actually landing on your form until you looked away. He was enticing, trailing you as you walked around the shop. It had been only a week that you had come around, scoping the place out like you were actually shopping, but he knew your side glances had more connotation than the objects in your palms with price tags stamped on them.
Subin had recently come to work at the small business on the corner — the shop quickly became his most enjoyable spot in the entire town. Every day you would come in for something: a new crystal, some sage, maybe a candle. Anything to give you those few minutes of feeling his gaze on you.
It had been so long since you had parted, his voice broken yet tears unshed. Life had turned you down two separate paths, the hike now up a hill to solve issues and ease tension. You both decided on a break instead of calling it quits, the lingering air around both of you still filled with the passion you once felt.
“We’re out of your incense.” he called from behind the counter, your eyes shifting through the scented sticks to meet his gaze. The first words spoken, an ice breaker.
“Luckily, that’s not why I am here.” you grinned.
Your feet carried you slowly, pacing up the marble counter fitted with knick knacks and easy-to-reach objects incited for quick buys. The place was still a shop — every wondrous piece came at a price, but your eyes stayed on the real payment.
Stuck just before him, you could see his throat swallowing hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing in tandem with the loud gulp. His eyes were cold, hidden behind his falling bangs as he swept them from his face. You smiled at him, watching his cheeks rise with heat as his hands fidgeted above the counter. “W-What is it?”
“How are you?”
Such a simple question to send the man over the edge, his eyes rimmed with a black circle as his blood boiled. Everything that had come to pass, and that was the first real question you threw at his way? You could see him biting his tongue, your index finger curving and placed beneath his chin to realign your gazes into one beam.
“I’m fine.” he gritted his teeth, pushing at your wrist as your hand reeled back.
You let out a partial laugh, eyeing him as your fingers fell towards a black clock on the counter. Decorated with roman numeral numbers, the light click of the magic object made your eyes fill with heat.
“When does he get back?” you asked him
The loathing man so close to you, yet so far rocked on his heels. He knew what you were there for, his bottom lip quivering and disappearing between his teeth as your sight stayed on the working clock.
“Thirty minutes.”
His voice ruptured your ears, your hand leaving the clock to comb through his bangs and pull him forward. His light whine at your tug was enough to have you bent over the counter, bracing your hips on the cold marble as you connected your lips. Hot like fire but his eyes cold like ice, you meshed with the man once more. His hand swiveled in the air, the sign on the door spinning on its own to read that the store owner was out for lunch.
Subin’s hands connected with your hips, pushing you back from the counter. Huffing in annoyance, his eyes thinned with lust, pupils blowing at the sight of you so worked up. His body walked backwards, turning towards the hallway just out of the line of the windows. Your feet dragged across the hardwood tiles, grains on the floor clicking with your every step as you nearly pounced on him. He rounded the corner first, displaying a large smirk with his lips cocked to the side of his teeth when he disappeared through the skinny doorway.
You moved faster, spinning past the frame as his hands reconnected with your hips. Smashing you into the wall, his teeth met your neck, nipping and sucking at the skin like nothing had ever changed. Marks along your body had long healed, but as his tongue grazed over his favorite spot, it was as if you could feel them all replenishing. The heat at your crotch grinding against him diluted his senses, your name falling as a broken moan came through his plump lips.
“Miss me?” you asked, the question begging a response.
A quivering rush of the shivers ran through the man’s body at your words. His eyes fell shut as his lips connected with the base of your neck, teeth hardly biting another mark. He was floating, far into the situation when your voice had pulled him back. Subin had been so distracted by his work that he forgot how deeply he felt for you — how much power you had over him, how much he loved you once upon a time.
He lingered darkly, nodding his head against your collarbones with a deep groan. His length had been connected to your thigh so many different times, the feeling just a thick rush of emotions as you felt him drag his hardened member across the fabric of your pants. Your fingers found the hair at the nape of his neck, pulling him to face you as your eyes endured that hardest part yet. Tears nearly broke from your gaze, his fucked-out state causing your mouth to water. His eyes squinted in the dark hallway, his hair falling over his forehead and sticking to the skin with a thin layer of sweat. Musky within the shop, the scents all around had you lightheaded, Subin’s hot touch drawing patterns into your skin with his tongue, longing. Wanting nothing more than to take him then and there, you had a moment's time to request the action before following it through.
“Take me again?” you begged, his eyes enlightened by a new source of power. Irises glowing gold, he only pressed against you harder.
The basement was warm, unfinished walls collected with Christmas lights and tacked posters. Air stifled by the scent of snacks and drinks, your group of friends all sat in a circle, eyes youthful with alcohol running through your veins.
"Finally, we have a bottle to play with." smiled one of them, dripping the last few drops into their mouth before placing it into the middle of the circle. "Now we let fate do its thing."
The bottle was a deep brown, clinking against the hard floor as it was laid on its side. With one fellow swipe, it spun at a fast rate, your heart beating a thousand miles a minute. You didn't know if you were showing up to the small gathering, friends begging you in your group chat that it would only be for a few hours and it would be fun. You hated turning them down, the course of life telling you to take chances every second you could in times as short as these. Naturally, you sent a text stating you'd be there, but the second you were met with Subin's soft eyes, you flattened out.
He sat three rows down from you in your math class that was only every two weeks. Always trapped between his older friends, he never even attempted to glance up the stands to find your crouched figure scribbling down on your notes, your laptop usually half dead beside you. He didn't notice a handful of things - the way your hand pressed against your chest when he walked by you on the sidewalk, your look of concern when you found him running for a late class, your notice of his pouted lips when he got locked out of his dorm room a hall down from your own. But now he sat two feet away from you, legs crossed and eyes fixed on the spinning bottle just like everyone else.
The tip of the bottle rattled against the area rug below you, stopping directly in front of Subin. Your breath caught in your throat, hand clamping the other one within the pocket of your sweatshirt. Those around you cheered for him, taking another spin of the bottle to find who he was paired with.
It spun for minutes, hours, days to you. It seemed like it would never stop, but your friend was correct: fate was funny. Your mind tossed things at you watching it go around and around.
"It'll land on someone he finds attractive. Stop shaking, it won't be you. Even if it is you, he'll just look disappointed."
Fate had you in its hold, as it was the one in control of the bottle. Slowing to an immediate stop, the open bottle flashed in your eyes as you blinked rapidly.
"Y/N!" the group called, your body idle staring at the bottle.
Fate was tempted by the circumstance and your consciousness, and it took the bait.
He stood - not even hesitating for a second, and offered you his hand. You slowly pulled yours from the pocket, sliding your fingers against his until his palm consumed your own. He was warmer than the basement air, a confident stride as he pulled you along to the closet off far from the group. This wasn't your seven minutes in heaven; this was your own, personal death wish.
"Subin," you spoke softly to him, his head turning to look at you from the side. Hand still locked over yours, he swung them in the air to give you a sense of comfort.
"I've got you," he replied, gesturing for you to move into the closet first.
It was dimmer than the main room, smaller lights along the walls concerning your sight. Blinking once more, he shut the door behind him and stood parallel to you. His hair was pushed back from his face, hand running along his neck in thought.
"You didn't want to be here in the first place," he stated, your creased brow making his lips pull. "They told me about your messages to the group chat. I was hoping you'd still come, but I asked them not to force you into anything."
"The bottle chose for me." you chuckled lightly, his smile making your breathing speed up again. "I'm not bothered, really. I'm glad I came. Same for you."
You were surprised you could even speak. His smile made you bite your tongue in worry of saying something silly. His movements closer quieted your mind for once. Placing his hand on your arm, he rubbed the fabric of your sweatshirt with his thumb.
"Can I ask you something?" his bottom lip moved between his teeth, eyes boring into yours carefully. Gifting him a short nod, his expression changed. "Do you like me?"
"Are we confessing now?" you asked, jaw barely parted in a gasp.
His eyes trailed your jaw. The smell of alcohol on this breath, he wasn't drunk, standing up straight and perked at the tone in your voice.
"Would you consider confession to me right now?" his words mocked yours, smirk on his face when his hand wrapped around your arm. With a light pull, you rushed up against him, head tilted down to watch you. "Because I've got some things to tell you, too."
"Like what." you piqued.
He didn't answer you with words, lips capturing your own in a rough kiss. His head swung back a little, touch still firm but loosening his lips to create a heated kiss. Hand moving up and down your arm, it lowered toward your chest, his breath hitching when it met your side.
Once more, it felt like years had passed. He walked you backward, the wall of the closet rocking you forward into him more than you believed possible. Bodies so close, you were breathing the same air, gasping to pull away every few seconds before reconnecting. His tongue slipped past your bottom lip, moving within your mouth to find your own. Swiveling in an entranced state, you pressed up against him, a groan leaving him loudly. You had pressed against his crotch, knowingly rocking up into it again as a gasp fell from him when he pulled away.
"I don't want to rush anything," he whined at you, concern flashing in his irises.
"We’re not rushing," you said, lips searching for his with a tug of his body.
His lips silk, hair soft as your fingers caressed through the locks at the base of his neck, moans vibrating your mouth. You felt like you were floating in his arms. He lowered himself again, your body rutting up against the area that made him stutter.
"A-Ah, fuck." his sounds made your body react accordingly, mouth watering as you felt him push against you for more friction.
Hips grinding into yours, a rush of arousal skimmed up your body, shivering lightly. Feeling your reaction, his index finger placed under your chin, thumb pulling your bottom lip as his tongue took control. Releasing another groan, the slow run of his lips passing yours made you push into him harder. Focused on the feeling pooling in your stomach, his movements grew faster, urging for a release of some kind. Tongue stilling against yours, his hands guiding your hips dug into your pants, shudders passing through both of your bodies as you came from the friction alone.
He pulled away first, half-lidded eyes locked in when he pressed his forehead into yours. A gentle smile rose on his lips, fingers running along where he held seconds before to dull the small bruises forming.
"Times up!" called the group just outside of the door. Laughter and cheers erupted, swinging the door open to notice you were both still clinging to one another.

Bid me your gentle gaze when we meet face to face.
You had witnessed the man create a flower from thin air, the rose’s stem between his fingers held gently as he tilted the flower to your face. The petals smelled strongly of the flower and himself, Seungwoo’s lips curving into a graceful smile. His eyes glistened with shifting colors, pupils dilating from the shade of your porch.
Pages of cursive had been slipped into your mailbox for months, a secret admirer that had a way with words making their way into your heart. With the sun shining far over the world in full brightness, he made his way up your sidewalk — his presence already getting to you. He didn’t even have to knock, the scent of his cologne laced into the cream colored pages lingering at your door and drawing you to the wooden gate instantly. The cold touch of the knob twisting in your fingers, your breath drew from you as you took him in.
Tall and handsome, his hair fluffed by the wind during his journey, the oversized coat on his torso even in the brink of the heat — he was wondrous. His name had been written on the last of the letters, talks of coming to meet you being well wishes until your eyes trailed up his form to meet his golden-light irises. He told you he was eccentric, but watching his thumb run along the padding of his middle finger to forge a flower; you knew the world had secrets, and Seungwoo was one of them.
“For you.” Lips moving so delicately, his voice made a shiver run up your spine and chills cross your skin.
Warm eyes like ripples in the petal of a rose.
Your frame stood in the doorway in slight shock, his hand placing the flower between your fingertips before taking a step back. He could only watch you, astonished that he finally had you in front of him after so long. So many words, so many emotions — you had caught his sight and never left.
“Your coat.” Voice soft and almost unheard, Seungwoo’s cheeks rose with a reddening tent. He was too warm, but what was beneath the jacket was still a mystery.
“I can’t take it off just yet.”
“Why not?”
“You’ll fear me.”
“Seungwoo.” The man visibly shuddered at his name falling from your tongue, your body leaning into the frame of the doorway as heat seeped into your cooled home. “I watched you pull a flower from nowhere, nothing else can surprise me.”
The layers of glitter on my back will only be known by you.
The leather coat moved backwards with his tight arms stretching out. The fabric gave way, his eyes shifting to the ground as the wings on his back fluttered into your view. Glittered just like the letters said, your hand rose into the air to feel the wind they battered in your direction. His face crimson and eyes worried, your palm met his chin, finger tilting his head up to meet your gaze once more.
And you will shed me of my worry. Give me a kiss and tell me you do not mind my secret.
You didn’t hesitate for a moment, the words in your mind like the letter was still in your grasp. Hand delicately placed at his chin, you pulled the man forward with the rose clenching in your other fist. Seungwoo’s knees buckled as he hovered over you, your tug pushing his head to the side to press a kiss into his hot cheek. Eyes squinting with his smile, his dark wings quivered against his back, his bare chest in your view causing the temperature around your body to rise.
“I think you’re a cherish-able one, Seungwoo.”
His eyes went shut, chest panting breaths. He was so touched by you. Even the dullest of days had been motivated by his words, his sweet scent on the pages ridding you of any problems as you pressed into your mattress and read the new edition. Balance, love had blossomed.
“Would you like me better if I was any different?”
His pupils blew at his own question, your lips forming a pout at the idea of wanting him to be any other way. No direct visual to his words in the letters, his tall frame positioned in your view was nothing you could have imagined — but it was Seungwoo.
“I couldn’t change you, even if I tried.” you laughed, smile bright and infectious to the man filled with anxiety. “Seriously, you seem miraculous.”
The word had him vibrating with excitement, face the same color as the rose still held in your hand. Frequent, the man had won you over before even meeting you, his face dipping down to align with yours for full contact.
I’ll look you in the eyes.
Brown eyes glistening with gold sparkles in the faint sunlight behind him; he was like a film you watched as a child. Memories of your surroundings during the moment in your thoughts going with you well into adult age, familiar scents finding you throughout life, flash images of the film you couldn’t remember watching all of — home.
You’ll stare back at me.
You rejoice in finding the movie again, sitting down with your older eyes and becoming enchanted with every frame. Seungwoo’s large hand moved into your peripheral, lifting your palm to place against his own. Heat of his skin attaching to your cells when his fingers gently plucked between your own, he was lacing them together.
Even as time passed you by, your mind was still bewildered by the film. Every quote you memorized without trying, the colors gaining your attention, the triggers of scents your mind recreated to gain comfort as you watched the screen change. Seungwoo stood before you, the personified version of the letters he wrote. He gave his heart to you, and you gave him yours.
And we’ll know fate played its part in how fast our hearts beat for one another — in love.
