Minecraft Chase the Skies is here!
Minecraft's latest update, Chase the Skies, has finally released!
New lead mechanics, happy ghasts, craftable saddles, new music, as well as the first proper release of Vibrant Visuals and more!
Minecraft's newest and highest graphics setting is here!
Such an exciting step for the game!
Currently, it's only available for bedrock, but Mojang has been clearing the way since the past year to get it ready for java!
BREAKING NEWS: Here's the highlights from Minecraft Live March 2025:
My reaction after finally watching the Minecraft live <3
A new hotfix is out for the Bedrock Edition release of Y'all It's Winter! This version fixes an oversight that caused leaves and other foliage to be tinted an ugly grayish green color in the Pale Garden, and also tweaks the MERS textures for Creepers, Sniffers, and both of their Spawn Eggs.
Planet Minecraft Link
oh, yeah, also, in java edition land, slightly better foliage colors is properly compatible with 1.21.11 now, since that version changed a lot about leaves. no screenshot 'cause that's harder to show.

Vibrant Visuals, as an addition to Minecraft, is one of those things that I don't really care for. I've only ever used Shaders for screenshots, never gameplay. I also just don't understand the Shaders love: Oftentimes, realistic lighting given to a game like Minecraft makes things hard to read.
A fall-stopping pool of water at the bottom of a dark cave? Way harder to see with Shaders.
Environmental fog making distant set-pieces hard to make out? Creates a problem for world navigation.
Bloom on anything that glows?
(Well, okay, there's no gameplay counterpoint; I just don't like bloom.)
There are Shaders that avoid some of the issues I have, but with Minecraft, where the world generation can create some areas that don't lend themselves well to realistic lighting conditions, it can oftentimes make the game harder to read. I find my issues here carry over to Mojang's Vibrant Visuals.
All of that aside, I do hope people who enjoy using Shaders enjoy Vibrant Visuals. I like the pixel-consistent shadows, but to liken it to the Texture Update in its Minecraft Live introduction makes it kinda underwhelming when it IS just Mojang's Shaderpack, coming to Java "sometime in the future".
not sure how i feel a8out vi8rant visuals overall and ive never 8een much of a shaders guy in general. the shadows look kinda cool? a lot of it is just kinda not what im looking for in minecraft t8h. also the water looks 8ad. i think itd 8e cool if it was completely configura8le 8ut we'll have to see how they implement it i guess, or if someone can release an optifine-like mod that lets you configure it.
