is there a way to have a full set up altar space without breaking the bank? i really want to set up an altar but i really can't afford to make one really cool like i keep seeing and no one has any advice other than "you don't NEED an altar" :(

My favourite things are:
- Rocks and other shiny things I pick up outside! You can think of these like crystals, as all rocks are basically minerals anyway !! They also connect to the earth
- Different types of rocks can be used for different types of intentions (river rock for water and such)
- Forage around, basically the first point again but anything can go on an altar. I personally love sea glass and such
- Look at local folklore, what stuff around has properties you want to align with? For example hagstones are important in our folklore so we use those a bunch and every one of our altars has one
- Buy some air dry clay, you can make votive offerings and statues out of it! Usually costs around $13 for stuff that dries like ceramic instead of foamy
- Repurpose things you already have, old tshirt? Use it as an altar cloth, old plastic bowl you have no use for? Use it as an offering bowl
I love using LED candles, these work on a budget as well as not being a health risk to pets and such! I see it working in the same way, you’re still creating a spark
