Multi-Dimensional Sonic Adventure 2 Original Soundtrack is a product to come from one of the most loved games in the series, it’s music is remembered to be pretty good, and it was also published by an external company, not any brand owned by Sega. (Wavemaster, Sega’s own brand for releasing music, would take over in the next main series game, Sonic Heroes.)
All that equals a pretty rare OST.
Because of this, there have been three (documented) bootlegs of the soundtrack produced in countries outside of Japan. While the most common is MICA-0370~1 published by Miya Records, we also got this rather nice quality bootleg by SonMay Records. It’s a much more believable fake compared to the Miya bootleg, actually resembling the packaging of the real product much more as it is a 2CD case rather than a single jewel case with two CDs in inside.
It’s gotten to the point that even the bootlegs for this release can be sort of uncommon, yet nowhere near the asking price of a legit Multi-Dimensional. I wouldn’t have gotten this in place of a copy of MD, but now that I own the real thing, having another bootleg of it is actually kind of cool.Â
