Outfits
He’s usually wearing well-fitted black pants with a simple, linen shirt that ties up the center over the chest. He likes to wear colorful vests and often uses a hooded, evergreen cloak that is enchanted to change with the wearer’s demands. When it needs to be long, it lengthens to floor-level, but it can also shrink to fall more like a shawl at the thighs or even waist sometimes. He wears black leather boots.
Pip is a human mage born to Molly and Patrick in a small, no-name town in the opinion of many. The town he comes from is named Skeld. It’s quaint and charming and makes all of its money housing weary travelers at the inn as well as selling goods and services to passersby. It is definitely a merchant’s town, as it lies right off of a major route through remote mountains. The mountains are remote enough that they don’t get heavy foot traffic, but being right along the route ensures they get all the traffic that will be coming through.
Pip acts as a guide through the mountains for travelers looking for protection or simply directions. His magic makes him very marketable in this profession. He is not known to travel beyond his mountain ranges, often ushering travelers between the many peaks but never straying too far away from home. He has a pet wolf-dog that goes with him everywhere it can. It’s all black and has golden eyes. It’s very loyal and, like Pip, very friendly. Although if Pip is in danger, it quickly becomes vicious.
Pip’s natural magical affinity is for fire magic. This is what he’s best at. He is able to perform all kinds of magic, but some are stronger than others. Second to fire, he is most adept at supportive magic like enchantments, potion-making, and healing. Magic that involves water or earth is especially tough for him. He rarely hunts because he doesn’t have the stomach for it, but he uses magic when he’s forced to on the road.
He has 13 enchanted rings that help him amplify all different kinds of magics, most especially the ones he’s not adept with. He switches them out and combines them as needed. What he always wears is his citrine stone that makes his fire magic much easier to control. His fire magic has a tendency to madden the mind, so the tiger iron ring helps control that effect. He also wears a ring with a moonstone that amplifies his ability to perform healing magic. These are the 3 most important aspects to him while he works. He will wear up to ten rings at a time, one for each finger, if necessary.
He comes from a long line of mages on his mother’s side while his father was a mere civilian. The gift skipped his elder twin brothers but landed on his younger sister too. This makes him especially close with his younger sister, and she looks up to him admirably, aspiring to be just like him someday. Pip tries to set a good example for her and bring only goodness into the world. He has a profound respect for nature and all things living. Being good to nature is one of his core values, as is loving every human like family.
Pip harvested some of the 13 stones himself and traded his services for others. He made the 13 rings with his own two hands and his magic. He enchanted each one to amplify the natural energies of the stones. Some are stronger than others. They are in order of strongest effect to weakest.

The rings can be combined tactically for desired outcomes. For example, wearing his wind, water, and electricity rings, he would be able to conjure a small storm and possibly even encourage lightning or at least control where grounding rods emerge from the ground. When wearing his water magic and plant magic rings together, he increases his ability to manipulate plants because he’s also amplifying his ability to manipulate the water inside the plants. If he adds his earth ring he might be able to pull roots up from the earth. By wearing water and earth, he might be able to make mud take the shape of a gollum.
