Vette!Obi redesign~

Imagine you threw a eurasian lynx and an unidentified species of corvid into a blender. Then marries them to a cave lion. And they reproduce. That’d be Obi.

The humans of yore called his kind ‘svartalfr’, but among the trollfolk Obi is known as a mountain vette (whereas huldra!shirayuki is a forest vette) he doesn’t appear to serve any mountain king, and whether his allegiance lies with any Underearthen Realm is uncertain.

Obiyuki Trope Madness Final - Only One Bed

Behold the baby bonanza~ I had originally wanted to do a Do-I-Know-You!AU art for this prompt but with Mangadex down and me needing refs, I had to freestyle something.

And who would I be if I didn’t do something Scandi for an event? :) it’s based on a short Swedish lullaby (tho it’s been translated across Scandinavia) about a Troll-mother who is putting her eleven trollings to bed. I was like... what if... vette!Obiyuki? With eleven children?? Ngl I didn’t think I’d be able to fit them all, I was getting reeeaaal desperate with the last two XD It was however a lot of fun making a buttload of Obiyuki babies in one sitting :3 doubly so when I could incorporate “vette genetics” like Shirayuki’s feathered shoulders, or Obi’s low ears, among the brood.

I’m aware that in most myths, vettes/trollfolk supposedly live grander than humans, in gilded farmhouses and every material thing they own is greater than ours. But I myself prefer the primitive look, it’s cozier, and the unpolished aesthetic better suits Obiyuki too. >:) (which also goes to explain the gradient, underlining that this is otherworldly)
