Part of your training being me giving you your meds. Because you always forget to take them anyway. And puppies shouldn't have those kinds of big responsibilities. I'm always the one who picks up your meds too, because of course you would just forget that as well.
The task is the same every day. "open" you open, I put the pills in your mouth, "swallow" you swallow "good dog." It becomes automatic. You don't even have to think about it before swallowing anymore.
Sometimes the pills look different though. The first time you notice it's a split second after you already swallowed them. Your eyes wide you look up at me for confirmation. I have already pat your head and said your praise and moved on. Maybe the manufacturer changed since you stopped picking them up? Or maybe you're just wrong, because you're just a puppy after all.
Sometimes there are more pills, sometimes less. You never notice a difference in how you feel during the day? So you fall back into the routine and you stop paying attention to what the pills look like at all. Puppies don't need to worry about that kind of thing anyway. That's my job.
