Vesserus

Habitat
Vesserus live further south than Phirrons and Orpus as they don’t have as much insulating blubber that they do. Vesserus create burrows in soft cliffs and land to live in. They can be commonly found along the coastline where there is sand and softer materials to burrow and dig through.

Adaptations
- Frill around head to both make self look bigger to predators and soak up the sun with the surface area of the frill
- Head frills can also be used to display to impress mates
- Two fangs on the front of jaw which can inject a mild paralysis venom to make catching prey easier (is mainly for subduing snakes but works for birds as well
- Long, sharp claws on front feet to help grip prey and hold it down so they can bite down on the prey to kill it
- Can walk on both four and two legs whenever they need
- Wing claws are used to climb cliffs and are also used to defend themselves in fights
- Hind claws are also extremely long to grip birds when diving after them
- Three huge spikes on the end of their tails which they will use to defend themselves from hunters and other predators
- Spikes on the back of their necks to defend themselves from the back
- Scales are usually earthy and stony tones which disguise them against their habitat
Description
Vesserus are generally earthy in colour and are covered in many spikes, this is to protect them from being bitten by another Vesserus as they can be pretty territorial. They can walk on both four and two legs, though most prefer to run on two and walk on four. Their front legs are short and muscular, great for digging out burrows while their back legs are longer and are used to kick out at other predators in defence. They have two long fangs on either side of their long, pointed snout. They have a drill that surrounds their heads and a flexible tail that can whip around to strike out in defence.
