VESNALI! One of my favorite little holidays on Subeta :) Here are the backgrounds I did, full size! I just really love backgrounds since we implemented full page ones; each one is a super fun mini painting. So fun.
tumblr why are you sizing things stupid?
The ones from the teapots are suppose to look like watercolors.
There might be something else coming. :O
(Late Post) Tempest Weapon Prizes
I am way overdue on this post, but I might as well get it out of the way before I never get to it. Anyway, this post will be discussing the two weapons that appear in the Tempest boss battle prizes. The two weapons are as follows:
Charged Tower Shield 21-25 light Blocks 10 light, 10 physical, 10 fire, 10 dark Heals 5% 3 mod slots Tier 8 Note: Does not take up the healer slot. Awarded for dealing 500,000+ damage to Tempest (75 users accomplished this).
Comments: The shield is a pretty nice tier 8 weapon with its defense and heal with somewhat of an attack added to it. However, the fact that only 75 were released does make it rather costly. I do feel that it is not worth the high cost and you should be able to win against tier 7 and 8 opponents with a tier 8 pet without it.
Tempestuous Bladed Gauntlet 17 physical, 5-8 dark, 5-8 water, 7-9 wind (rare attack: 60 or 75 water) Blocks 35 water, 35 light Heals 9% May activate Rip and Tear curse (4 icons; 5 rounds) 3 mod slots Tier 10 Note: Awarded to the top 50 damage dealers against Tempest in addition to the two users who did the killing blows on her. Credit to Tumblr user fujoshi-freak for helping me out with additional information.
Comments: This might make a decent budget weapon for Prodigy. Its use is a bit limited though as it only works effectively against opponents who deal a consistent balance of water and light icons (which doesn't seem to be overly common in tier 9+ actually). I am probably missing information on this, so I will update when I can (I own neither weapon covered in this post).
I will be covering the Spring cash shop challengers once they arrive, though I do have another guide in mind as well.
You have been awarded a Rain Weather Sticker for being one of the top fighters against Tempest! x5 You have been awarded a Delectable Bear Claw for being one of the top fighters against Tempest! x2 You have been awarded a Roiling Storm Matter for being one of the top fighters against Tempest! x2 You have been awarded a Downpour Sticker for being one of the top fighters against Tempest! x2 You have been awarded a Thunderbutton for being one of the top fighters against Tempest! You have been awarded a Memory of a Dismal Day for being one of the top fighters against Tempest! You have been awarded a Tome of Water for being one of the top fighters against Tempest!
Not bad for only 7 losses with my main pet. What prizes did you get?

The Sylphs: Part 5 - Cloud Sylph
Since he is the only Sylph I have not made a guide for yet, I will be concluding the Sylph series with the easiest one: Cloud Sylph! He is listed as an "easy" challenger and is suitable for anyone that is at least a decently trained tier 1 (probably like 25-30 evens or better).
His stats are as follows:
Health: 85 Strength: 50 Defense: 30 Speed: 100 EXP: 100
His stats are a little higher than usual for a tier 1 opponent. His weapons are as follows:
Cumulonimbus Chomp: 2-3 wind Blocks 5 wind Static Shock: 2 light, 1-3 wind Small Squall: 1 light, 1 dark, 2 water, 2 wind
Just use an infinite use healer and a good infinite use attacking weapon such as Item Hunters Wand and you should be all right. Just treat him like you would Pock Saper and Riscors or Technicant.
Upon defeat, he will drop a very small amount of sP and one of the following items:
Partly Cloudy Weather Sticker Content Cloud Sticker Cloud Beanbag Cloud Watching
He has the following items as his special loot:
Lightning Sylph Storm Chain
The Lightning Sylph he drops is a minion that bears NO resemblance whatsoever to the challenger of the same name. The Storm Chain is a wearable (preview thread for all wearables dropped by the plot challengers).
I would like to ask all of you something. Do you think I should make a guide for the Tempest too?
The Sylphs: Part 4 - Dark Cloud Sylph
I apparently am so late for this next part of the Sylph guides that the boss is actually here, but that isn't stopping me from making my next post. Now I will be discussing Dark Cloud Sylph, the one in the middle difficulty-wise. He is "hard" difficulty and best suited for pets tier 5 and up. Stealing is disabled against this challenger.
He is a part-cloud, part-tortoise beast (I am interested in knowing as to what specific breed of tortoise this is) and he has a rather interesting array of stats:
Health: 2,000 Strength: 600 Defense: 900 Speed: 50 EXP: 750
He has high HP, below average defense, decent defense, and really slow speed (though that might be expected of a tortoise). The main difficulty with this guy is his high health. Here are his weapons:
Flash Flood: 3 wind, 3 physical, 3 dark, 10-15 water
Slow Rolling Thunder: 4-7 wind, 1-8 light, 1 or 3 or 5 or 8 dark, 5-6 water
Hail Flail: Blocks 10 light, 10 earth, 10 ice, 5 wind, 5 physical, 10 dark, 10 water Heals -2%
Shifting Wind Currents: 4-7 water, 4-7 ice, 17-25 wind
His main icon types are water and wind. His Shifting Wind Currents is his hardest hitting weapon, but I have never seen him use it first turn, which leads me to believe it is generated (most likely from the Hail Flail). You will want to keep an eye out for his use of Hail Flail to see if he might use a wind current. His Hail Flail does have annoying defense, but it doesn't block fire and magma (and also damages him for 2% of his max HP). Forj Tempered Kusarigama (Genetech combo: Death Scythe + Forj Ore + Forj Ore) and Forj Tempered Machete (Genetech combo: Heated Short Sword + Forj Ore+ Forj Ore) are great for attacking him. Shrine of Apollonia might even make the first rounds of the fight easier for you. You may want to go a bit defensive when he starts using Hail Flail a few times though.
Upon defeat, he will drop a small amount of sP and one of the following items (note that the beanbag is a rare drop, but it is rarity 99):
Sudden Hailstorm Maze Card Stormcloud Beanbag Turtle Snowball Hail Weather Sticker
His special loot is as follows:
Dark Cloud Sylph Beanbag Dark Cloud Spikes
Here you are at least guaranteed a beanbag and the spikes are a wearable.
I am sorry I took so long for this (I blame tiredness, 502 errors, and being behind in plot battling overall). The only Sylph I have left is the regular Cloud Sylph, but being a tier 1 opponent, he should be easy to research and make a guide for.
The Sylphs: Part 3 - Lightning Sylph
To continue even further when it comes to my guides for the Sylphs, I will continue with Lightning Sylph, as promised. He is the second hardest of the Sylphs, considered "very hard" difficulty and best suited for pets who are at least tier 6 or tier 7. Do note that blessings are disabled against this challenger.
He is my favorite Sylph when it comes to the artwork, but don't let his good looks get the better of you. His stats are as follows:
Health: 1,800 Strength: 2,200 Defense: 500 Speed: 1,500 EXP: 2,300
Aside from being a speed demon, his stats are actually low for his difficulty. Rewarding more EXP than Saggi is a nice treat though. With such low stats, what kinds of weapons does he have to make up for that weakness?
Lightning Strike: 7-11 wind, 5 light, 15-18 physical Boosts attack by 85 Note: This weapon might not be working correctly right now, boosting your attack instead of his when he uses it.
Snap and Zap: 5 wind, 3-5 physical, 4 dark, 16 light Low chance to freeze
Crackling Coil: 8 physical, 7 water, 12-22 light Blocks 20 dark, 20 water Boosts defense by 25
Slippery When Wet: Blocks 11 light, 11 water, 11 earth, 11 ice, 11 wind Heals 3% Boosts defense by 50
Okay, so he does a very high amount of light icons and does bits of wind and physical here and there too. He can also freeze and you can't use an anti-freeze blessing. If you don't have a good light blocker that can attack, then there is still away to get around the troubles he can cause: chain freezing and killing him as fast as you can. Using something like Frozen Ocean Curl or Shards of Space and Time to repeatedly freeze him can be a godsend due to his low HP. Heck, you can even use the safety of Shinwas Temple Shard or Rainbow Vortex to deliver strong blows too (Death Shard and Light Shard also make effective temporary safety nets). Plus, bombs might actually prove useful for once. Tier 8+ pets with Large Gutting Knife shouldn't have too much of a problem even without chain freezing him to death due to its heal, attack, and light block.
Upon defeat, the Lightning Sylph will drop a small amount of sP and one of the following items:
Lightning Bolt Lightning Pistol Hook of Electricity Bottled Lightning Thunderstorm Weather Sticker
His special loot is as follows:
Charged Scales Captured Baby Lightning Sylph
The scales are a wearable and the captured baby is a minion. These seem to be the only main practical functions of these items.
The next one I will be making a guide for is the Dark Cloud Sylph (the middle one). I am feeling tired, so it may be hours before that happens.
