Event Announcement
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL– (September 4, 2024) Habitat for Humanity of Greater Palm Beach County (HFHGPBC) is excited to announce its annual Veterans Build event, generously presented by Vertical Bridge. This year’s event will take place on November 1, 2024, featuring multiple job sites across Palm Beach County. This significant fundraiser and community effort aims to support veterans and active service members.
Honoring Our Veterans
With nearly 76,000 veterans residing in Palm Beach County, Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to honoring these heroes by promoting homeownership. The Veterans Build program is pivotal in ensuring that veterans can achieve or maintain the American dream of homeownership, providing them with a secure and affordable place to live.
How You Can Get Involved
There are several impactful ways for the community to contribute to Veterans Build 2024. You can become a sponsor, participate in or organize fundraising activities and volunteer for building projects, or donate to the American Dream Fund, a special fund dedicated to Veterans Build 2024. Immediately following the build, join us for the American Dream BBQ at the Boynton Beach Arts & Cultural Center. This reception will celebrate the event’s success and honor the veterans and active service members in attendance.

I forgot how to selfie. I have really done absolutely nothing for the past 9 months going back and forth between Indiana and Norway. I got some rad kinda high nostrils.. They need downsized. My vertical bridge is almost a year going strong, so that’s good. I need a new haircut. I need to go to the gym. As much as I hate Indiana I am ready to be home for good. I miss my cute ass kitten. I’ve decided to go from vegetarian to vegan when I come home as well.. Wish me luck that I don’t strangle people for looking down on my choice of compassion towards animals haha 😊

Hi I was wondering if you could give me some feedback. I noticed you have a forward dermal/ third eye piercing and I've been wanting one for a while too. I think their beautiful and have been researching aftercare and such if I get it done. I also saw that someone messaged you saying the piercing was cultural appropriation once it's copying a bindi. I feel it's completely different from Indian culture once it's a piercing but I really would love your opinion.
i’m assuming you’ve read my post about bindis/cultural appropriation? if so that would answer most of your questions. i think as with all culturally sensitive subjects, you need to know the background well, and you need to be able to answer for your actions. if you still feel this is something that will improve your self perception and life, you should do it. i used to HATE my face. i still do some days but my vertical bridge piercing really helps me. it gives me a focus point, and it’s also a way to center myself. when i’m stressed i can concentrate on this particular point and use it to collect my thoughts. if you have any particular questions i’d love to answer them, anonymous or otherwise. just think through whatever modification you do fully. it is a permanent installment of your face. what will it give you? what will it tell the people around you? if you have a lot of hindu people in your life - ask them if this is derogatory. i got a no answer and i can’t tell what i would have done if someone would have thought it was.
also - i’ve had bad experiences with dermal anchors. (maybe you’ve seen the scar between my collar bones) probably because i got mine done by an apprentice who completely messed up and it didn’t heal properly and it got torn out by getting stuck in a blanket while i slept a few months after getting it done. it never healed. so i was really apprehensive about getting my bridge piercing done and chose to get a vertical surface bar. it didn’t work entirely though and had to be bent and eventually changed out to a titanium anatometal bar (i love this one!!!) as the previous one got irritated constantly. it required a lot of aftercare and still flares up every now and then, but that’s mostly related to my other skin infections. if you’re really careful i think surface bars are great - especially if you get one that’s good quality. my anatometal bar is SO MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE than the regular store brand i had previously. it sits better and hasn’t needed to be bent yet.
