It’s been a particularly rainy month in Oregon, which is already notoriously rainy. A small town near the coast had the foresight and budget to provide a tensile cover over their small wooden skatepark, making it a perfect destination for a rainy afternoon.

I drove out one morning, and arrived to find a pretty exciting session already underway---complete with beers and music. The skatepark is pretty far from the street, tucked against a river in a quiet little town. It’s a pretty private location, perfect for a more laid back session.

Clatskanie has gotten a little bit of coverage, mostly for its miniramp. It has just a touch of vert, so it rides like a mini but still allows for decent airs or inverts. The transitions are a little bit kinked, but nothing to complain about, and the surface and coping are both smooth and fast.

The park also has a giant vert wall and some small street items. There’s something here for everyone, but ramp skaters will definitely be happiest here.
