Frustration and loss gripped Lune. She brought her hands up to rake through her hair and let out a sound that was somewhere between a roar and groan.

Rant!
Warning spoilers for Expedition 33.
So like most people, I decided to play to game, and again, like most people the story was beautiful, gorgeous, amazing and heartbreaking.
Im sure like everyone else, they were conflicted by the ending and which to choose. Do you choose Maelle or Verso? The girl who is doing everything for her family and everyone she knows or the man who wants to save his family and himself. People will sway to each one, which one is the right one? Well the answer is neither.
Neither Maelle or Verso are right. I hear people now, but Verso is wrong because hes a liar and manipulated everyone and everyone in the canvas has the right to live. Well perhaps, but Maelle is just as manipulative, and honestly she is the main reason I chose Versos ending.
Firstly, the people of the canvas at the end of the game, they are completely different than the people in the beginning of the game. Once they gommaged at the end of Act 2 they were dead. Maelle may have brought them back, but how I see it, they won't ever be exactly the same. Once you erase a drawing, you may have an outline but the drawing will never be the same.
Secondly, Verso is accurately a liar and he is shit on a lot because of that. If you play through the entire thing, level up the friendships to definately see this in a lot of different cut scenes, but I don't see it badly because you can look at it different ways. A lot of the promises were done right after Act 2, but as the game progresses, and you do the Alicia and Clea you can see him breaking more and more, then through in the Renoir fight, and he sees his mother suffering, his choice makes so much sense. This isn't including the fact that his soul cannot die.
Which now brings me to Maelle. She destroyed everything Verso had slowly. And the thing that bothers me the most is that she killed Alicia. Not because she killed Alicia, but because she respected Alicia's choice and not Versos. Which fair, its not Versos choice to make but its an ongoing theme. She will respect everyone's wishes but Versos. At the very end, the last fight she refuses to let Verso choose. She forces him to remain with her, telling him its what's best.
I also believe Maelle needs to leave the canvas because how she id dealing with grief is toxic AF
Now of course this is also on top of a bunch of other reasons why I would choose Verso again. And again, this is only my opinion, I really just needed to say it, and I may re-edit with more points and such later.
TL;DR I chose the Verso ending because I think Maelle lacks any form of respect for Verso.

... I'm not okay.
Just finished Clair Obscur: Expedition 33...
I haven't cried this much at an ending since the Dragon Age: The Veilguard Fade Prison (in it wasn't an ending but ifykyk)...
And yes, if you were curious, I am balling my eyes out because of the "Verso ending"...
Maelle's ending wasn't as moving to me personally, but that was cause I had the sense of unease more than sadness...
Either way, I'm sad now ☹️
