#verse stuff

So one thing I have been struggling with as far as Kurai ever since I first made him, is who he went to for his internships (first and second/work study). I couldn’t figure out where he would pick/fit best, no matter how hard I tried.

I typically try to avoid doing OC crossover stuff with my own OCs, but recently, my pro hero OC (hero-of-ninelives) has been adamantly insisting he wants to be the one to take on Kurai for his internships. I’ve been debating it, but hesitant, however I think, verse dependent, I will allow it to be a thing. Ryo is a very tough mentor, and tends to do a lot of the tough love stuff, which as much as I hate to admit it, tbh I think it is what Kurai would need most in order to grow. (We can decide on a mun to mun basis if we want to incorporate it into our threads, however I am also open to Kurai going to other pro heroes for his internships if any of you with hero muses are open to it). This is sort of less detailed and probably less well explained than I want it to be still, because my head is kind of a mess atm.

By the end of(or during) his second internship/work study, Kurai will definitely have some changes to his personality, and his attire.

Before it, he is still very shy, and easily scared. However after his internships, he has gained more self confidence. He is still shy, and can get rather easily flustered and nervous, and he still retains a lot of his cute behaviors, but he’s much more likely to speak his mind, or just talk to people in general, and less likely to hide away. He also has stopped slouching and shrinking down so much, and the fact he is actually taller than he used to appear will be more noticeable. He smiles more, and is even sometimes likely to lightly tease people he is close to.

ALSO, appearance wise, Kurai has now gotten special contacts for his eyes, to help him filter the light, so he no longer wears his hoodie, and EVERYONE can now see his face and hair and everything else, so he has changed to wearing JUST the normal uniform. 

As far as his quirk, he is also now more likely to use his vampiric quirk as well, in training and in battle, and in rescue or training situations, he actually makes use of it more readily.

He still will always be shy and awkward (and you’ll still have blushy moments), and not the greatest at social things, but Ryo (my pro hero OC) is a rather tough mentor, so he would pretty much knock the overly timid behavior and at least some of his self hatred out of him.

After the Snap, Bryce can’t help but blame herself, no matter how much everyone points out their own mistakes and failures. She’d made a mistake in caging Hulk all these years, she’d failed to convince Hulk to fight and help everyone. As everyone around her falls apart, Bryce can only looked at the small ratty pictures she’s managed to keep of Betty and resolve to do better by her, and by everyone. It’s time to fix things between herself and Hulk. Isolation is what she needs. Peace and quiet while she comes to terms with the past. In the end, she picks her old gamma lab, long abandoned now, but because of it, perfectly suited for her needs. In the end however, there’s very little science involved. Most of it is just... talking to Hulk. Or yelling, as it comes out to in the first few months. Years of anger and pain and resentment and grief pouring out while they battle in the void. But even the anger has limits and it runs out eventually. Bryce learns that Hulk wants freedom and a life the way she does, that underneath everything Hulk has a drive to protect them. And Hulk learns that Bryce is scared of a lot of things, but mostly by the thought of hurting people, of being like Him. Slowly... they come to an understanding and eventually they reach an agreement. The body and strength they share is Hulk’s, the knowledge and restraint is Bryce’s, but now they take turns with control. They still squabble sometimes of course, but eighteen months after they first entered the facility, they come out feeling so much better than they ever thought they could feel. It’s not perfect, there are still nightmares and the anger’s never really gone, but it’s something. And together this way they’re stronger than they ever were, strong enough for a rematch with Thanos. Bryce solves the time travel problem instead of Tony in my verse. Tony’s a genius don’t get me wrong but he’s an engineer he doesn’t specialize in the theoretical (sorry im bitter about the movie making Banner dumber in a field he’s supposed to be good at so Tony could shine).

After using the gauntlet to restore half the universe, a large portion of the right half of her body is scarred (from the right side of her face down to her upper thigh) with her right arm mostly useless, it may never be the same even with her accelerated healing (she eventually decides to amputate it after Tony’s funeral). She also has a bit of a limp and favors her left leg.

The overload of gamma radiation also turned her human again. She can still shift into Hulk form but it’s more controlled now. When using the gauntlet it was more than the power surge that she found overwhelming. Each stone’s power was enhanced by proximity to the others and so for a few seconds Bryce saw all of time and space before her, felt connected to all the minds and souls in existence, and was tempted by the power and reality altering abilities that were at her literal fingertips. The information overload messed with her head and while she can’t remember most of what she saw, the work she pursues after the final battle has a distinctly cosmic bent to it. 

Tony and Nat are gone (her fault her fault why couldn’t she have had the will to save Natasha and gotten to the gauntlet before Tony’s stupid self sacrificing ass had?), Steve has lived out most of his life, Clint has retired again with his family, and Thor has left with the Guardians. If someone had told Bryce she’d be the last of the original six Avengers still on the team she’d have laughed at the idea of her sticking around long enough to officially be on a team in the first place. Now it’s just bittersweet. Most of the people she’d come to call her family are gone. There are others there of course: Pepper, Rhodey, Sam, Bucky, and a bunch of newer people, but she’s still coping and coming to terms with the fact that she will likely outlive all the other people she loves and her relapse in her recovery process due to what she’s experienced has undone her integration with Hulk. Most of her time is spent with the New Avengers as well as with Pepper and Rhodey and Morgan.
