Awesome Sausage And Peppers!
This is an easy, satisfying and delish dinner that I have adapted from a dish at one of my husband's favorite restaurants.Â
1 package Italian sausages, we use Johnsonville
Start by cooking your sausages in a shallow pan with water. Â Cooking them until they are completely done isn't necessary. Â Just long enough to hold their shape for slicing.
While that is cooking, put about a tablespoon of olive oil in another skillet and saute onion, and peppers until tender/crisp. Â Slice the sausage and add to vegetables.
Now add salt, pepper and italian seasonings to taste. Â Or just dump it on like I did. Â A teaspoon of minced garlic (the easy stuff, from the jar) never hurts either. Good for your heart, keeps away the vampires too!Â
Cook and stir for a few minutes, then put in a baking dish that you have sprayed with Pam. Â (This is a great tip, if you have an awesome husband like I do that does the dishes, this will make his life much easier, and he will appreciate it)
Cover with foil, and bake at 300 for about an hour. Â This is great on it's own, over pasta, or as filling for a hoagie with melted Provolone cheese.
Let me know what you think! Â Â
