Long story short, Marquis likes citrus scents. His favorite fuel tea is citrus flavored. His favorite metal shine oil is citrus scented.  Of course, he would buy the most expensive citrus scented oils to keep on reserve for special occasions, and his clothes will be requested to be washed with some detergent that will allow the clothes to feel soft and smell faintly of a good orange.Of course, since it’s oil, it’s not going to completely smell like it, and sometimes you could catch the faint scent of just oil, specially after Marquis has fought something and is cooling down from doing so much work. The scent isn’t as overpowering as when one works with cars and motorized stuff, but it’s enough to know he’s going on cool down.

Marquis is fond of citrus scents because it is the last scent he remembers before the little incident that made him go cray cray. The are specific sounds, scents and movements that stayed engraved deep in his memory core that he has decided to keep as precious, and orange scented things are one of those things, as he had just finished serving an orange and lemon tea to the lady Phoebe so she could heal faster of a cold she was going through.

On the subject of keeping secrets

A secret is a covenant, a promise to never spill to others. It could be vital info held for dear life in the ears of another, or something as small as you hate that steamed broccoli your friend’s mom cooks every Tuesday.

Either way, Verod is not ever one to stray from loyalty to someone or something [given that they’ve earned his respect]. Being part of the Keepers has taught him more than enough about how straying off from a vow can put a whole world in danger, nonetheless his Empress, so the last thing on his mind is ever breaking a promise, no matter how small. The ripple effect of stepping out of your lane when not absolutely needed has some dire results, and he’s seen it second-hand many times [one of which being the personal execution of a lot of his fellow Keepers due to their betrayal].

Long story short, Rathteu ain’t gonna say anything if you want him to keep it. He has no one but himself to tell, therefore there’s no point. Gossip and spreading kept knowledge like the plague is something he dearly hates in people. It lacks honour, trust, and common decency [something that Thralls made him strictly look out for].
