The White-Headed Vulture (Trigonoceps occipitalis) and the Griffon Vulture (Gyps fulvus) are both Old School, or rather Old World, Vultures. They don't rely on silly smells, like the New World Vultures do, but rather eyeball the carcasses they're going to tear into, and tear into carcasses they do. It's an Old World Vultures favourite pastime, next to getting blackout drunk by 9pm in a shitty divebar and yelling at the house band to play House of the Rising Sun until they're kicked out. Interesting to note, however, is the geographical inaccuracies of this image. You see, while the White-Faced Vulture tends to rest his feet in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Griffon Vulture is more likely to be found across Asia, Northern Africa or holidaying in the south of Europe, so the two never actually cross paths, let alone hang out in back alleys behind The Phoenix in Canberra.
