nearly midwinter & still was flipping 36°C/80°F today...
it's been such an unseasonably warm winter so far, to the point where nightjars are even still calling regularly (they normally go relatively silent by this time of year), a plover nest (of my study species) was found earlier this month (what in the FUCK, birds!), & i think cape white-eyes already have a nest right outside my front door.
the local african wood owl has been very vocal lately, knysna turacos/loeries will hopefully also nest nearby, as they've been frequenting a particular tree, sunbirds (who are winter breeders) are collecting nesting material, & the nectar feeder's popularity is still going strong.
plus, with the addition of little rush warbler & streaky-headed seedeater, the home/garden list is now up to 89 species!
