the yeun family moved from south korea to new york city a year after sutton was born. their dad was an amazing doctor and their mom was a lawyer. 

their parents were rarely home for long, and when they were, they were preoccupied with work. sutton’s sister ended up taking care of her younger siblings and never complained once. the three of them were very close, almost inseparable 

when sutton was 14, he figured out that he likes boys. he confided in his sister, and she accepted him without a problem. the biggest issue was at school. he was already getting picked on, but the entire i like boys part brought up a few issues. after the first few times, sutton started fighting back. one kid almost had to be sent to the hospital. sutton got suspended from school, and his parents decided to just transfer him midyear to a private boys-only highschcool.

yeah ..... sutton didn’t tell his parents about being gay. he didn’t mind the transfer at all. 

he had a bf or two in highschool, but nothing that lasted very long. overall, highschool was unmemorable. he graduated valedictorian.

it had already been a few years since his sister moved to london to study medicine. she met a guy while in med school who is the son of the CEO of a very big medical devices company. 

sutton decided to move to london to continue his education, and ended up studying biomedical engineering. during his first year, his sister announced her engagement.

near the end of his first year, sutton was looking for internship opportunities and he brought it up to his sister. she remarked that her fiance works in a big medical device company and that his dad is the ceo. 

on a day that his sister was doing hospital rotations, he met her fiance about the internship. the meeting had started innocently enough, but it ended with sutton laying in his sister’s fiance’s bed staring at the ceiling as the fiance told him he’d get the paid internship.

sutton didn’t feel guilty at all initially, but it happened several more times before the wedding because the fiance ‘wasn’t sure that he’d be able to get him the internship’. he didn’t make eye contact with the happy couple the entire night. 

he got the internship. it’s really prestigious and honestly he could have gotten it without this, but he’s too scared to admit it to himself.

sutton lives in the same apartment complex as his sister and her now husband which makes things extremely awkward. he rarely answers her calls and messages and theyre definitely not as close as they were when they were kids. as for him and her husband, he feels sick to his stomach whenever his name is brought up. 

hey at least sutton basically has a guaranteed job at this big company, right?

i would give an arm and a leg for someone he fake dated for the wedding. maybe they on/off fake date for different occasions. maybe theyre friends or maybe they don’t like eachother and this is just some mutual agreement because it’s convenient 

Chloe is the youngest child of Robert and Annabelle Cunningham. She has two older brothers who both went to Havard, one for pre-law and one for pre-med. 

Chloe’s family is known for their doctors and lawyers and tend to own a lot of different businesses, i.e. hospitals, law firms, chain store. They also tend to hold places in congress, her uncle being in the senate and her other uncle being in the House of Representatives, her grandfather being a former supreme court justice. 

When it came time for Chloe to go to college, her parents wanted her to go to school for business so she could understand everything about the businesses her family ran and anything her husband would run. 

She was forced to go out with the son of a senator who was a pre-law student at Princeton. He was a stuck up only child who came from a rich family and always got what he wanted, something he uses as a power over people.

Chloe undermined her parents and went into school as a communications major since she figured she’d have a lot of crisis in her professional life due to who she was. 

Chloe decided she had had enough of the constant pressure of being a trophy wife when her wedding was a mere 2 weeks away, right before her sophomore year of college. She used the excuse of needing a spa weekend away by herself to flee her family and start over.

She cashed out as much money as her bank would allow and fled to London overnight.
