Just finished reading Daphne and Velma The Vanishing Girl by Josephine Ruby ♡
I ordered this from amazon and was delighted to have it delivered to me the next day despite covid (honestly bless the frontliners) and I started reading it as soon as I got my hands on it. I finished it in less than 24 hours and it was exactly the kind of light ‘mystery-themed’ story I was looking for. The story about the Vanishing Girl tells the story of a ghost town along with how Daphne and Velma’s relationship turned stale.
Despite their differences, it was lovely to see them work together and understand the types of fronts they put on to protect themselves—because in the end, they are the only ones who know the truths about eachother, ugly sides and all. And I think that’s what most friendship stories lack in depth which I think was very refreshing.
Looking forward to The Dark Deception which is releasing next month. If you are a fan of scooby doo and wanna see some bright minded women solve a mystery together (bonus points for mutual pining), then this is the book for you.
