Last night at the library, I got to meet and hear the stories of these two awesome people. Amena Durant - Dance Major - Sophomore - On the left “What’s the best and worst thing about being a dance major?” "Usually people think dance is just kicks, turns, and basic stuff. Dance at VCU, we do more than that and change the ugliest thing to the most interesting dance. I did a piece, where I was a dog, bird, and human where I had to embody different animals and had to convince the audience to show more than that this is just a crazy performance. The worst thing is our time management because our dance classes is from 8am-5pm everyday. After that, we have rehearsals, which depends on pieces and that is usually from 6pm-10pm. I also have two jobs, so what is time?" "Btw my form sucks, can we retake the picture?" ------------------------------------------------------------- Kirsten Williams - Theater Major - Freshman - On the right “What’s the craziest obstacle for theater students?” "Procrastination is usually hard for college students, but especially for us theater students because of the monologues, which we have to rehearse and memorize them, which is more extra work for us." “I actually haven’t started rehearsing for the monologue that’s due for the auditions tomorrow at 10am.”
