For a place so far away from it, Ionia feels a lot like home.
There’s a certain kinship that Neeko feels towards the land that’s indescribable, even to someone who used to deciphering foreign emotion. It’s part of why she’s lingered so long—the soft lull of magic is the other part of it. And she has no real concrete place to go; why not stay in a land like this?
Neeko’s been lost in quite a few thoughts like this as of late. When the steps of something—someone, she tells herself—begin to sound from behind her, it’s a bit of a shock. Surely, she hadn’t managed to accidentally stumble across someone else’s territory? She’s seemed to do a lot of ‘trespassing’ in her travels. The word is associated with less than pleasant thoughts.
... And truth be told? After Kalduga Outpost, Neeko is happy to admit that she’s tired of fighting. “Neeko doesn’t want any trouble!” she calls out, and turns an ear to the air. The sort of steps that can just barely be mistaken for the brush of wind against leaves. If not a little wary, Neeko is thoroughly impressed. “I’m just passing through. No trouble, not one!”
