Sungmin’s office was a tiny room at the back hallway of the Underground that looked so conspicuous from the other side of the door--- unkempt metal, just like the rest of the doors lining the walls of the Howlers’ headquarters, the only distinguishing factor being the little name sign he’d nailed to the wall beside it so that everyone would be able to find it easier when they needed to turn in an expense report or simply let something off of their chest. The inside of his office, however, looked nothing like one would expect having seen the rest of the Underground. It was neat and put together, as much comfortable furniture crammed inside as possible within the confines of the space. The walls painted a calming blue-grey color to contrast the chaos of the rest of the building. Really, the bookkeeper’s office was like a breath of fresh air at the end of a long tunnel.
So it wasn’t often that he actually found himself alone in there, usually joined by someone needing to turn in a report or ask for funding or just chill on one of the couches and spill their heart out. It was a miracle he still managed to get his own tasks done every day, what with the amount of listening to other people’s problems he was doing on the daily. Which was why he felt a bit odd, having spent the last hour alone to deal with his spreadsheets and the ever growing pile of receipts in the basket on the corner of his desk. A knock on the half-open door, however, interrupted his silence, and he found himself relieved, not used to this quiet of a day.
“Ah, Nami---” he greeted pleasantly once he recognized the face at the doorway to his office. “Come on in, get comfy. Like I said last time, my office always has an open door policy, no need to be all formal or anything,” he commented as he finished entering the last of the numbers he was working with onto his computer before offering Nami his full attention. “So what’ve you got for me? This week’s reports?”
