Matthew stepped forward, placing himself between Abby and the crippled Feral on the ground. Starling's shotgun had damaged its legs enough that it could do little more than feebly drag itself through the dirt, growling and shrieking. It was an unpleasant sight for anyone -- especially someone so new to the wastes -- but as it was, it posed no real threat anymore. Still, they could not just leave it.
Someday she have to put one down, but there was no sense in forcing her now. Not when it wasn’t urgent and it was easy enough for someone else to finish it off.
