see like part of the reason antishippers scare the everloving shit out of me is because as ashamed as i am to admit it i was one. i was a highschooler, yes, a young one too, and the fact that i had feelings for and was at one point in my very first relationship with a boy who cited proshippers as individuals who had groomed him and as a "big c/p circle" has done little to assuage my guilt. i'm so afraid because i was on the inside. i saw how those kids thought and the way they acted and operated. and now that i am officially one of those 20-somethings who wisened up and is definitely what you'd call a proshipper or comshipper or whatever i am terrified of having that vitriol turned on me because every spare second i was navigating the complex social maze hell that was stan twitter i was dreading making one singular mistake and getting a callout doc about me that would strip away my ability to ever use my computer and look at the fun pictures and people in it and mean i was perpetually punished except when you're a kid like me iykwim "punishment" has a verrrry specific connotation and hm i think the fact that i am incredibly socially anxious now makes a great deal of sense i think
