A Beginning
Dave can barely remember some of his first experiences as a baby. But he can recall some things: fear, falling.. and gentle hands picking him up out of the dust and heat.Â
A meteor streaks across the sky without warning and a child's tiny fingers are twisted into the mane of the horse he is holding onto out of utter instinctual fear. He doesn't know what falling means but he knows that it is not safe and that he is in danger.. it is new and uncontrollable. He is too frightened to even cry as he tries to keep his grip on the large animal, who has no qualms about twisting and nigh shrieking in fear.Â
The shrieks and the sensation of unknown danger end with a series of sharp noises of wood breaking and debris flying through the air. He's jolted hard and he can't find it in himself to move or cry. He keeps his eyes closed and his head down against the now still body underneath him, seeking out the slowly disappating warmth for comfort. The child is unaware but he is now alone in this world, an unknown and parentless child that has fallen to earth like an angel thrown out of heaven. And this is where  his story begins.
