Day trip from Borjomi, stop 3! Exploring the super cool ancient cave city of Vardzia, established in 1156 and made into a monastery in 1185 by Queen Tamar. It was abandoned in 1578 after an attack by the Turks, and only 600 chambers exist of the original 3,000.
