i hate modern aus
specifically genshin because why do they have iphones, and for some reason are always in college and not their actual professions they have in game??? (like srsly why r college aus always tied to the modern ones when it comes to genshin) this is a modern au, not an if-they-lived-in-our-world au sonion
plus, it already has a ton of more "modern" stuff in game already; natlan's characters as a whole with their mechanics (mavuika's bike, xilonen's djing, etc.), guns, technology like vr headsets (akashas), so on so forth.
i dont think a modern au rly suits genshin, at least not the way a lot of the fandom does it. no hate, esp since i do think some of the fics or art can be good even if it feeds into this ver of modern au i hate, but its js not my cup of tea or wtv
i do have my own modern ver id like to put some work towards and showcase, in case anyone who maybe would see this thinks or tells me to "make my own then" LOL
