you really need to raise your standards for what's considered "a phrase" because if it only makes sense in the specific context of the post it was originally found in and it isn't repeatable in other situations, that's not a phrase that has entered the lexicon, that's just something someone said one time.
i started this thing last week i need all the posts i can handle
What doesn't alter your vocabulary may alter, or may have already altered, someone else's. This is not about adding to The General Lexicon - I have an entire tag for things that change this site as a whole, which has a higher bar; this is largely about novelty and humor. This is us curb-stomping whatever the fuck we want into the right form for our needs, whatever those needs may be, including altering aspects of the phrase to fit the necessary format or context. It's a linguistic shotgun.

my apologies for forgetting this blog exists. given global politics, you can imagine that things are not at their peak right now. i am, however, endlessly pursued by the autistic urge to line things up in neat little rows. and occasionally those things just so happen to be internet posts.
i enjoy that i mentioned my fursona in passing in the tags of a post from last year and someone still manages to sniff it out.
you may see him. he is a fluffy dragon and his name is Mercury.
this portrait is perhaps not as polished as i would like but this ask did motivate me to bust out my drawing tablet and actually put effort into something, so i do appreciate that.
Hello. I don’t know whose post this is or where it came from, but before I had a tumblr account I saw an ask post wherein someone asked, “ If skeletons were real, do you think boner would be a slur for them?” I don’t remember the answer from the blogger, but somewhere in the reblogs someone said “I have wonderful news for op regarding the realness of skeletons.” That has probably changed my vocabulary more than any other tumblr post. Love saying “wonderful news for op regarding the realness of x”. One time a roommate was trying to quote it and he just said so happily, “Good news for OP about skeletons?”
i can only find this screenshot of the post in question from r/curatedtumblr. attempting to search for the actual post has brought up only further screenshots and also incorrect quotes blogs. the good news is that you're not hallucinating, the bad news is that this post appears to have been wiped from tumblr itself and/or was never a real post in the first place.

gimmick blog for cataloging posts (videos, images, texts, whatever) that have altered your vocabulary in some way. adding a word or phrase, obliterating the tumblr linguistic biosphere, etc. you can nominate posts by tagging or asking if you want to. (if u dont send a link in an ask, i'm probably not going to go looking for the post, but i might keep an eye out.)
one of those gimmick blogs that adds nothing and basically just hands someone else's joke to you. presenting: work i did not do
#outside nomination - someone else sent this in
#personal nomination - this one came across my dash, or i sought it out, or it was on my hit list and someone sent it to me
more info below the cut
other tags include #phrases, #words, and #characters. phrases and words are probably self-explanatory but for characters it's for when a person or other entity is made up and tumblr latches onto them/it for fun, such as cousin throckmorton or goncharov.
#bonus hit is for posts that permanently changed the way people talk on this side or stuff that is still being referenced years later. #combo hit is for if the entire post (multiple words/phrases/whatever) is insane enough to be referenced or thought about for years. if the entire post is one sentence or sentences that are unrelated to each other it doesn't get the combo hit tag because that is, by definition, not a combo.
whether or not i reblog a tagged post is up to my discretion. if it's one i haven't seen before but that i can easily picture Changing Something, it gets added. specific fandom references probably won't make the cut unless they're truly groundbreaking (such as miku binder thomas jefferson).
main blog is @nickel-alloy so youll occasionally see me reblogging posts from there if the source of the linguistic injection cannot be reblogged from for one reason or another. if i reblog from you it's likely that yours was the most recent clean reblog i could find without doing too much scrubbing.
yes im autistic. pronouns are he/they or something
HIT LISTS OF POSTS THAT ARE GOING ON THIS BLOG (as soon as i find them again):
the friendful visitor (arguable biosphere alteration)
death is coming. Death is coming. pass me a hot dog (i personally think about it from time to time)
/vocabulary-altering-posts/793863998022074368/character-added-the-jane-goodall-of-leafcutter you literally reblogged this from a url called malicious white boy, did this kill her?
@maliciouswhiteboy email did you kill jane goodall the people want to know
only seen your posts off other reblogs but I still imagine this blog as a dragon hoarding gold and treasure to their pile, only just taking phrases. I love it so much.
this ask is funny when it is followed by this one in my inbox (which was related to the tags i put on a dragon-related post).
and now i have been assigned dragon. dragons good yay :) dragon time
