Kaboom! This capacitor has decided to call it a day. But I’ve got one in the van. Problem solved. #coffsfridgie #kaboom #fixedit #spareparts #vanstock https://www.instagram.com/p/CoTtGyBJ7F5/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
This is a van

Hyde’s motives in getting Kelso caught by Jackie during the episode Vanstock (2.6) are questionable. Of course everyone knows how much Hyde appreciates a good burn, however, it could be argued that his motives could have been influenced by helping Jackie as well. All in all, Hyde is a good guy, and although he tends to be a rebel, when it comes to protecting his friends he doesn’t kid around. In Vanstock, this includes Jackie.
Even for a burn, Hyde goes to great lengths to get Jackie to catch Kelso. This includes encouraging Jackie to come with them to Vanstock. Now normally, Hyde would have jumped at any opportunity to keep Jackie away, especially since she was already hesitant about going. But instead, he encouraged her to come, tempting her with the prospect of surprising Kelso. All for a burn? I don’t think so.
Once in the van, Hyde furthers things. He joins Kelso, Laurie and Jackie in the front and does everything to make Kelso miserable. He gets Jackie and Laurie talking about things they have in common, and of course starts a round of “Three’s Company.” Is Hyde enjoying Kelso’s misery? Of course. But there’s more to it. For example, when they are singing, Hyde covertly hits Kelso in the back of the head during the lyrics “and his.” This could be considered his way of telling Kelso that he’s an idiot for cheating on his girlfriend and that he really hopes he gets caught.
Then, when he talks to Donna later, he tells her that he’s laying traps to get Kelso caught, but he can’t blatantly rat out his friend. This is Hyde basically admitting that his intentions are not solely for the pleasure of burning his friend, but because he knows that what Kelso is doing is wrong. And maybe he can’t just come out and tell Jackie that her boyfriend is cheating on her, but that doesn’t stop him from doing everything in his power to help Jackie figure it out herself.
Does Hyde have any substantial feelings for Jackie yet? Probably not. It’d be my guess that that starts after Jackie does catch Kelso and Laurie, and Hyde gets to see the kind of person she is without Kelso (more on that later in season 2). But in Vanstock, I think that Hyde is just doing what’s right and what comes as second nature to him: protecting his friends. When he and Jackie do start dating, his protective nature becomes more obvious and he no longer hides it behind a burn.
