Let’s talk about communication! No we’re not offering relationship counselling... we’re talking radios! Do you have one? Have you thought about getting one? We have @ruggedradios RM60 and RM45 on board. Honestly you don’t need two radios we just wanted to test out both to see which worked better for us. The RM60 is a VHF radio and the RM45 is UHF. We have the units hard wired into the rig and we have a pack of hand helds which we can give to friends when we drive in a caravan. It’s great to be able to chat and laugh as we drive, to let people know if somebody needs to stop and we can direct each other on the trails. The #coloradovanlifegathering is under way! Are you here? . On our first evening together we assembled our best eats for an amazing potluck dinner followed by awesome and inspiring conversations. . There are almost 100 vehicles here and each is as unique as the people who own them. . Gang’s all here! . We’ve been having an awesome (and exhausting!) week at #outdoorretailer here in Denver. Last night we helped raise funds for public lands at @ratiobeerworks with @vacayvans @tinyhousetinyfootprint and @josiahq. We had such a blast giving van tours and meeting all of ya’ll who came out. . As much as we’ve been loving it here in Denver, we can’t wait to get our feet back in nature. We’re heading to Basalt this weekend for the #coloradovanlifegathering. We know @van.there, @theladiesvan will be there. Who else will we be seeing there? . How is it over already?! . The First Annual #TetonValleyVanlifeGathering went better than either Matt or I could have predicted. We connected with over 100 amazing humans living in vans, Rvs, skoolies, ambulances, trailers and vehicles of all kinds (even a Tesla!) at the incredible Linn Canyon Ranch. . The Teton Valley blessed us with good weather and even better sunsets, and although it rained at night we all got to to fall asleep to the sound of rain on our roofs (I love the pitter patter). We toured rigs, and hung around the campfire morning day and night. We started our morning with a beautiful Rise and Shine flow yoga and incredible breakfast granola, yogurt and @Shineorganics superfood purées. We had presentations by our two non-profits, @jhalliance and @leavenotrace. Saturday night’s BBQ sponsored by @kettlebrand is something none of us will soon forget. I’m still dreaming about those potatoes. We had a blast raffling off so many amazing things to everyone (juice boxes!!) and somehow the free beer provided by @melvinbrewing flowed and flowed and lasted all the way through the event. . But this would have been nothing without you guys. You showed up and shared your tips for living on the road, you welcomed us into your thoughtfully built and decorated homes with open arms, you got vulnerable and talked about the downsides of life on the road, the stigmas and lonely moments, you stepped up as volunteers to help us throughout the weekend for check-in, parking, setting up and so much more. Thank you to every single one of you. Thank you for coming to this special place and sharing yourselves with us.
