Why did they never make the second Anne Rice vampire book (The Vampire Lestat) into a movie?
me and my dad were discussing Anne Rice and her vampire trilogy and I keep wondering why they never made a movie out of the second book. i still have yet to read the Queen of the Damned but i think the Vampire Lestat was the best. i loved Interview with the Vampire as a movie but found it hard to believe Antonio Banderas was supposed to be a 17 year old. i loved the Lestat in Queen of the Damned but from what i hear, the plot didn't really stick to what was originally in the book. me and my dad were discussing who would play Lestat in the second movie: He suggested having Tom Cruise in all three movies but I can't see him as the Queen of the Damned version. (Was he any good in Rock of Ages?) I can see Stewart Townsend in the second one but probably wouldn't be convincing in the first one. I've seen various personal castings for the books into movies and I've seen a lot of Ewan McGregor as Lestat but I haven't seen enough movies with him as the bad guy. Also Jude Law. From what I can remember, I've seen Jamie Campbell Bower (Anthony from Sweeney Todd) as Armand. jonathan rhys meyers as Nicolas Lenfent. I'm wondering: Who would you cast as Lestat? And if you are willing to go further: as Nicolas, Armand, and Lestat's mother Gabrielle?
