Caught between excursions deeper into the mortal realm, Theneras occupied his time with Val'Shira in the feywilds while waiting for things to die down elsewhere. It was fortunate that mortal lives, and memories, were so brief and fleeting. While Theneras was rarely in a hurry to do anything, he absolutely was not in a rush to see the inside of an Iskaran mine or the walls of a Lysaran prison cell.
The two of them had started on a pet project together, Val'Shira was the smarter of the two, always had been - but Theneras wasn't without his own brand of charismatic brilliance.
The platform and the trap door triggered by a pressure plate had been designed and laid out with light constructs as Theneras delicately used his strings like a pully to place the illusionary trap within. In concept, it was simple: person A stepped on a specific square, and from the west wall a trick of light would create illusionary specters to skitter in the peripherals of the trespasser's vision. Harmless, almost undetectable, but a prime way to build suspense and scare away intruders with weaker constitutions.
"When do I get to place the explosives?" Theneras looked wryly at Val'Shira, the feywilds were better for him at the moment - wanted in the mortal realm, scorned as a rake in Avalon. He couldn't catch a break.
