Hi everyone! I'm going to start writing an original work that i titled the Nightmare in Reality, (working title) and I’m gonna start posting it on here and since I don’t have a tag list I’m just gonna tag random people ask if you want to be added/removed
I woke from a nightmare covered in sweat. I hugged the stuffed animal I had as close to my body as I could while I tried to erase the memory of the dream from my head. I had these nightmares nightly, to the point where it was affecting my grades in school. I got up to grab the dream journal my mom had given me after the nightmare reoccurred for the fifth time. I scrawled in my neat writing as much as I could remember from the dream, but it didn’t matter. The nightmare was always the same.
I had flicked on my room lights as I wrote, which awakened my mother. My mom, who slept across the hall, knocked on the door and opened it.
“Another nightmare?” She asked in a timid tone as she walked into my room. I nodded as she closed the journal and put it back in my desk. “You know, you can talk to me if you need to. I will always be here for you, no matter what. I know things have been hard ever since your dad…” she trailed off, not wanting to finish the sentence.
My silver-blue eyes shimmered in the light as I looked into her eyes and said, steadily, “I’m not scared. I just need time to myself.” I was proud of how steady my voice sounded, and of how my mother seemed to believe the blatant lie, stood up, and left.
I crawled back into my bed as my cat jumped up on the bed to comfort me. I hid under the covers as I tried to think of positive things. I finally fell into a restless sleep 30 minutes later.
The next morning I woke up more tired than when I went to bed. I dragged myself out of bed and slowly got dressed. I then walked downstairs where my mom was making blueberry pancakes, my favorite food. I plopped herself down at the small table as my mom brought me a plate with a couple of pancakes on it and the syrup. She set the plate down in front of me and sat down opposite where I was sitting.
I, despite being tired and feeling a little sick, was ravenous, scarfed down the pancakes, and got up to get some more. My mom, however, didn’t seem to have much of an appetite and was poking at her pancakes with a fork. She chuckled as I practically inhaled the second plate and got up to get another plate.
“Ok, I think you’ve had enough for now,” she said as she took the plate from my hands. “Go watch TV or something while I clean up.”
I dutifully left the room and grabbed my IPad and Apple Pen so I could add to a drawing I was making. I pulled up the drawing app and clicked on a portrait of a face that was familiar to me, but no one else. It was the man that always appeared in my nightmares.

Tubbo rubbed his head as Ranboo crouched down to look him in his eyes.
“Alright Michael, we have to go for a bit, but I promise we’ll be back.” Ranboo said as he stood up and him and Tubbo exchanged a concerned look.
“Don’t forget to feed your chicken!” Tubbo reminded gently. Michael looked up at them as they both rubbed his head one more time, and then they walked out and closed the door.
——————a few years later——————
Michael was 11, and he was used to the daily routine he fell into once his fathers left. He fed his chicken, and then cooked up some steak in the furnace for breakfast. He heard the distinct sound of Yogurt slinking in through the front door, and stood up to greet the fox and feed it some sweet berries.
It had been years since Michael saw Tubbo and Ranboo, and just as long since Yogurt had seen Fundy. Yogurt was reaching old age, and soon would leave Michael with one more hole in his heart. As soon as Michael made sure his chicken was safe, and that he had his helmet on, he and Yogurt set out to Las Nevadas, where Yogurt used to live.
They reached Tubbo’s cookie outpost, long since abandoned by the owner and builder, but taken care of by Michael. He harvested the cocoa beans and wheat from the farms, and replenished the cookie stock, just as his dads taught him.
The white fox and zombie piglin set off to the barren landscape of Las Nevadas and its casinos. They passed the exit of Fundy’s toll booth, and Yogurt lowered its head in sadness.
Once they had passed the once-bright Las Nevadas sign, they looked around at the broken fountain and crumbling casino, and set to work repairing the land around them.
Yogurt grabbed blocks and water buckets as Michael started repairing the once-magnificent fountain. After half a day of hard work, the fountain was done. This was how their days went. They went from country to country, fixing and repairing them to their former glory, and then they went to their home and ate and slept, and did it all again.
—————— Many Years Later——————
Yogurt had long since passed, and Michael was left alone once more to continue his work. He had finished repairing most of the countries, and now worked on keeping them shiny and looking new.
He used to do it believing that one day everyone would return, but now he had given up on that hope, and simply did it to keep him busy so he didn’t rot away in his home, doing nothing and living a worthless life. He was 25, but felt as if he had lived a million years.
One day, as Michael was moving around Snowchester, fixing the houses and killing mobs, he heard an impossible voice.
“Michael?” The voice said, as if surprised to see him still alive and moving about.
“Tommy?” He breathed back, not wanting to believe it, not wanting to believe that someone had come back, that someone still cared, that that someone wasn’t his father.
“Yeah, kid, it’s me.” Tommy replied. “What’re you doing, and where’s all the other animals?”
“Tommy,” Michael turned around, choking back a sob as he saw the features that hadn’t changed a bit, as if it had only been a few days for him. “It’s been years. Years and years. All the other animals have died. They’ve passed, and all that’s left are their descendants.”
“Oh god. I’m so sorry Michael.” Tommy looked genuinely sad, and it killed Michael to see him like that.
“Just- just tell me,” Michael choked out. “How are my dads?”
“They’re good Michael. They’re good.” Tommy replied.
“Alright. Tell them, that I say hi. Tell them, that I’m ok, and that they needn’t worry about me. And Tommy,”
“Yeah?”
“Tell Fundy- tell Fundy that Yogurt lived a great life, and a long life, and that I took good care of him, and made sure- that I always made sure he was happy, even until the end. Even until the end.”
“Of c- of course I will. Listen, I’m so sorry Michael, and I don’t want to go, I swear I don’t, but I have to, and for that, I am so so sorry.”
“It’s fine Tommy. You need to go, and I understand that. I’m fine on my own, but you have to promise that you give them the messages. You have to.”
“Yeah, I promise. Of course I promise. I have to go now.”
“Goodbye, friend.” Michael waved as the last person he would ever see walked away, and turned back to his work.
——————Many Years Later——————
Michael was much older now, and he was reaching the end of his lifespan. He had met a mate, and had a daughter, which he trusted with the responsibility of taking care of the SMP. Even though he knew that she wouldn’t meet her grandpas or their friends, he always reminded her to make sure that she never let the world tarnish.
She had taken on the responsibility well, and was well prepared when the next generation arrived and started their own countries and cities. When that generation left, as they invetiably do, she kept the SMP clean and new. This continued, on and on and on, and will continue, on and on and on, until the end of the Earth.

Uzumaki Naruto has never felt at home in Konoha, has never felt welcomed or loved. Yet, in his dreams he sees a beautiful city shining on the sea. He feels the call, wants that home.
So one day, after many years suffering indifference and hostility, he leaves and sets out to find his home. He just doesn't expect to drag a couple tagalongs with him.
Mirage - or was he Elliot right now? He couldn’t tell, it all got muddled in his head. He was the same person but Mirage was different to Elliot. He hated and loved it. Loved the fame, the attention, loved that people actually knew him, but he hated that he had to perform for others, constantly be on his toes, looking behind him, wondering if his mother would even recognize him as he was.Â
Sometimes he made himself sick. What was he if not a glory hound? A fame chaser, someone only obsessed with their image? Sure, he act the part easily - it always came easy to him. Acting was how he got attention when he was younger. Elliot - or was he Mirage? Maybe he’d never truly know the difference now, stuck as he was forever between two worlds; two people so different yet similar.Â
He curled up smaller, tired and numb on his bed-couch. The posters and fanart of himself mocking with their fake cheer, the veneer of happiness and cocky confidence falling away to reveal the man beneath the unknown armor. He was just him , his mothers’ little chickadee. Nothing more, nothing less.
He was empty and raw, fresh tears streaking down a face cold and apathetic to the rest of the world. He wondered, after dying so many times, when he’d finally die for real. He wasn’t afraid anymore, not really. After dying in the arena like he had - shot, stabbed, lava, drowning, Caustic’s gas - he was far beyond afraid. But he wouldn’t die until the Syndicate decided he wasn’t useful anymore. And as long as he put on a show, he was useful. He didn’t understand why he still went out there and did so. He was tired of it all. He couldn’t even remember how long he’d been there for. It ran and blurred together like mixing paint.
He missed his mother and her homemade pies, her rough hands teaching his how to solder different pieces of metal together. The hours they would spend on the technology he used now, to keep himself useful and alive. Her humming off key early in the morning or late at night while she did chores around the house. He missed her.Â
He sighed, trembling hand coming up to wipe his face, smearing the wet all over and not really improving anything. There was no use in crying over it. No use in being a sad, sorrowful sight. If he wasn’t useful he was dead dead. So he had to pick himself up and be Mirage again — be useful and funny and charming so he could live. If only for her, and maybe the family he might’ve found in the rest of the legends. Well, maybe a few of them. Caustic wasn’t exactly the picture of “family man”.
Mirage - because that’s who he was now, he was Mirage . Elliot Witt died a slow, quiet death in the recesses of his mind months ago. Sometimes the ghost of him would still rattle and moan, make a push to once more become who he used to be. But it was more of a whisper than any true attempt.
“Mirage?” Her voice was soft, concerned. He wanted to hate it, but found he couldn’t. Instead, he simply felt tired and maybe relieved.Â
“Present. What’s up Sparky?” He did his best to sound cheerful, but it fell flat.
“I came to check on you. It’s after dinner and you didn’t show up. Octane wanted to do it but I figured he'd be a bit too much, ou"
Mirage snorted, "He would be more likely to make me want to blow him up - again - if he tried. Thanks kiddo. I'm sure I'll be fine. I always recap-recoop- I always bounce back." He did his best to grin, but it came off more a grimace.
She laughed, pushing his feet off the couch, forcing him to sit up as she sat down.
"You know, we're here for you, Mirage. You can talk to us."Â
"I know Sparky. I'm just sad you guys won't let me cook!" The fake cheer sounded cracked even to him, and he sighed. "I'm homesick kiddo. Nothing that won't pass, okay?"
She nodded, "I understand. I miss my papá often, it can be...hard, when they're not here."
Mirage blinked, not expecting the younger woman to pick up on that small fact.
"Thanks, Sparky."
She smiled, face soft, blonde hair fluffed out around her head like a soft halo.
