Valja is the result of forbidden research that sought to find a way to fuse the body of living creatures with godlike beings in order to create a new series of golem soldiers with devastating power. Valja was once known far and wide with their serial number, V3, and, even if they didn't really appreciate what they had to do, they were the most effective and most loyal of all the golems produced by Albireo's army.

But just like any invention, they soon became obsolete: V3 retained way too many traits of their living components, so much so that only one of them was built. First of all, their core needed to be recharged with Echo crystals way too frequently to work properly. Secondly and most importantly, in spite of the absolute loyalty V3 always demonstrated, their ability to show empathy and to form opinions on their own was deemed unnecessary and downright dangerous. So, as soon as the research for a new model was set in motion, Valja was stabbed in the back and put in a facility waiting to be dismissed.

From here, destiny repeatedly tricked them with the mirage of a better future: stolen by a group of dissidents called the Nadir with the promise of a new life, they were employed yet again as a heartless machine by an army of people made of the survivors of their past incursions. Only one soldier in their entire life treated them with respect, the same who gave them the name Valja. But in the end, after years of beautiful friendship, they had to watch their friend die in their arms, victim of a mistake in Valja's own calculations.

I won't go over what happened to them after this event since it's quite spoilery, but rest assured it's not fun. But after all their tribulations, I think it would be so nice if Valja finally had their happy ending and found their own little happy glass dome where nothing bad can come inside, only little cute cozy harmless things.
