Two Years...
Its been two long and difficult years since you left us to be at peace. I still remember those last few days in the hospital where you gave it your all until your time came. I remember you overcoming death when it appeared as if he had you. I remember you laughing through the pain. I remember you raising a fist and smiling, telling me to be strong when I mistook it as props. I remember my heartless father lying to you in your final moments but most of all, I remember your selflessness with my sister. You put yourself through an extra day of infernal suffering just so you wouldn't spoil her birthday. Hell, you even wished her a happy one when you hardly draw a breath. That's something that I'll honestly never forget. You were a second father to me, a true father, more of one than Aldo ever would and could be. I know its a bit too late but i just want to say that I'm sorry for being so arrogant as a child. Nonetheless, even though your dead and gone, believe me your memory will carry on in all of the hearts you touched. You know, your viewing was one of a hero. I had never seen so many people come to pay their respects for one man, even when they had not seen him in decades. It just goes to show how great of a person you were and how impactful you were in the lives of others. I'll never forget what you taught us during your time with us and I will always cherish what you've done for us all.
I love you nonno, and I always will
