I am become hype!

I think it looks great. everyone looks cool. Poe has never been Hotter. Finn has never been more In Charge. Rey has never been more Extra. and Kylo is out here strutting about in black, #OnBrand style.

the Dark Rey thing just looks to me like a giant red herring. like it’s something someone is seeing in a Force vision, a la the montage on Takodana when Rey touched the lightsaber. she saw things that had passed, but also something that hadn’t. Dark Rey fits in similarly. I’m gonna assume it’s something Kylo is seeing, since he did say in TLJ that he “saw” Rey turn to the Dark Side. (she also said she “saw” him turn to the Light, and look what happened there!)

cautiously optimistic about the Leia scenes! Leia is so near and dear to my heart, and I know the blueprint has Episode IX as Leia’s movie, like TFA was Han’s and TLJ was Luke’s…. give Leia the mic!

I still am not thrilled about this re-introduction of Palpatine, since it kind of vomits all over the great ending of ROTJ… but I guess it’s still possible for something to kick in and make that work and also satisfying. so not thinking about that much.

TLJ saw everyone making the big Choice about who they are and how they fit into this story and this galaxy: Rey chooses herself, and her own path, different from Kylo and Luke’s. Finn chooses to become a hero, and to devote himself to taking the First Order down. Poe chooses to become a leader, and to make the hard choices fearlessly. Kylo chooses himself, and his own opinion of righteousness.

that’d be a loooong trilogy!

she’s read all my fic, some multiple times, and I *know* how hard that is, how exhausting, and to hear from her again and again is so heartening. and stunning. it’s a kind of support I have never known what to do with, but am desperately trying to. my dream is to take her thoughtfulness and make it into something just as enduring, and giving.

additionally, she is patient and warm, always willing and ready to listen and offer sympathy. her own insight into motherhood and parenting has been both enormously helpful in a ~writing~ sense, but comforting in a ~real life~ sense, where I feel seen and heard and validated, and gosh, isn’t that just what we all want.

she is full of that distant light I am forever trying to stay close to, and I can’t think of a higher compliment than that.

tl;dr: I would die on a battlefield for @vaderkat, and you may quote me on that.

tbh I REALLY thought it was far too late in the day for anyone to see, much less comment on this post! your enthusiasm bodes well for me. but I don’t want to throw anymore into the universe until I feel like 1) I do have a story, and 2) have written a good chunk of a story

I may vague-post but I don’t post-post unless I know I’m gonna finish something ;)

in short it is a fusion with a different uh media property, a la the ANNIHILATION au. but this media property is impossibly even less known. hence why I don’t want to throw more about it out there until I fully settle on it because i gotta COMMIT to putting time/effort into it. also I am low-key embarrassed by the whole idea so I have to, like, get comfortable with it?

I briefly told my best friend the vague idea, so the ball has been rolled.

um NO DID I KNOW YOU WANTED THIS?? this does sound familiar. I imagine I forgot about it. 

I do have like 3000 words of that “Interludes” story (between something you don’t even have a name for and amor fati; the “lost four years”) but it’s super incomplete without the other three parts of it...

but a Gabriel/Serafima prequel... damn my dude, you are really all about that tragedy!
