Fuzzy Peach | Jenny&Dex | V9 W1 | Wednesday Morning
@invisichick
Dex stood outside the building, which was obviously still in a state of disrepair, and shrugged one shoulder as she stared at it, trying to steel herself to actually go in, rather than just lurking. It felt like her body was trying to talk her out of going- look, it said, your shoulder hurts, remember when you pulled it out of working last winter? It’s hurting again. You should just go take a nap under a tree. And it was true, her shoulder ached, it had been doing that pretty much every morning she’d woken up one place or another in this city. She was blaming the concrete, but it was partially because she was nervous.
She had to ask herself though, why was she nervous? There was no good reason. This person didn’t seek her out, therefore they would know nothing about her. For gods sakes, she was helping renovate a pub named the Fuzzy Peach, it was hardly sinister. With this in mind, she forced herself forward and opened the door, knocking on the frame lightly.
“Hello? I- uh, saw your flyer. So, I’m here.” She fidgeted with the straps on her backpack, wondering if she would be the only one showing up. She wasn’t really sure what to expect, but if the work paid, she’d be happy enough.
