Loki's silver tongue wasn't going to get him what he wanted this time. Usually he couldn't care less, but in this small inn room he didn't want to sleep with his back to the door and he certainly didn't want to face Sif and think on how incredibly warm it would get lying next to her. If she were to discover something and ridicule him for it, he would be laughed out of the palace. There was an advantage, in that she could act as his protector if need be, but that was embarrassing in itself - that he needed protection. Curse Odin for keeping them back on an errand so that they had to stay together discreetly on their way to catching up with Thor and the Warriors Three.
"Surely you'd prefer to be nearest the window? There is a prime view of the street in the event of trouble, and you'd be closest to the bathroom should you want some privacy to, I don't know, buff your bracers."
