“I think that’s the last carrot? Maybe?” Bun brings up, tugging at the leaves with his teeth, and throwing it into a pile of various other vegetables, “why do bunnies think these are so good? They taste like dirt.”
Sta rolls her eyes, starting to pick them up quickly, “they are covered in dirt, Bun, have you ever tried washing one before you eat it?”
“I am a rabbit, I do not own hands, and I can’t run a sink.” Bun perks up as he hears a rustle a little bit aways. It wouldn’t be as concerning if it wasn’t quick, moving footsteps. “Sta, do you hear that?”
“No-” Before anything can be said Az is one to roll in, half deranged in her outfit, hair a mess on the top of her head. Both Sta and Bun just gape in awe at the sight, her breathing heavy as she holds her knife out in front of her.
Bun quickly books it under Sta’s feet, peeking out behind her pants at the knife weilding woman who’s looking up into the trees, “I want you two inside.”
“W-”
“I said inside, it’s after me, not you guys.”
Sta leans down to scoop up the bunny in her hand, quickly making her way into the hut and closing the door quickly. When Bun gets set down he runs in a circle, running towards a window to see if he can see anything, his gut twisting. “Sta! What if she gets hurt! WHAT IF SHE DIES!”
“It’s Az, I don’t think she’s capable of dying.” Sta has an abnormally calm voice as she reaches for a book, opening it and grabbing somethings around it. Bun thumps his back feet on the ground to look back over at her with the most threatening look a bunny could give.
“She’s out there fighting something and you’re gonna open a book?”
Sta says nothing as her finger traces the page, her eyes skimming as fast as they can. Bun huddles himself next to the window, his nose twitching and his ears up to see if he can hear anything outside, but nothing but silence follows. Except the door swinging open and shutting.
“I think it’s gone.”
“Az!” Bun’s head pops up, and before she knows it he’s already at her feet quick as can be. “Are you okay?”
“Aye, don’t worry kiddo, I’m fine.” She reaches down, patting his head before walking towards Sta, setting her knife down on the table she’s working on and sittng next to her, “mind if I crash for a hot second?”
Sta looks up from her book, giving a long drawn sigh as she looks back down, “as long as you tell me what’s out there chasing you, and if we’re gonna be able to leave this hut at all if you’re in it.”
“I wish I could tell you what was out there right now, but I don’t think it has the type of power most things do.” Az picks the knife up, checking the blade carefully, looking over it, “I tried stabbing it, and it did nothing but spark.”
The entire room goes silent, and everyone sits there for a second thinking it through. Bun’s ears twitch as he starts speaking up again, making his way over to the table where the other two sat. “So, there’s a robot trying to kill you?”
“So we could throw a bucket of water at it?” Az looks hopefully over at Sta, who closes her book quickly and looks back over at the two with another long drawn sigh. She never could get any silence around here anymore after this whole thing started.
“The water would work if- it’s not a waterproof robot, and if we can catch it, which as we can see it’s fairly fast.” Sta places her hands on the table and pushes her chair back to go put her book back in it’s place, letting her finger trail over the spine as she was thinking, “can’t you get your dragon wielding girlfriend to burn it up for you?”
Az would have stuck her knife in the table if she didn’t think she would wind up dead, but she looks up from it with an eyebrow raised, “do I look like I can get home to do that?”
“Maybe it’ll rain!” Bun exclaims, kicking his back legs playfully.
Another surprise comes in and a body comes through the window. Bun yells in surprise, finding the first spot to hide but still see the action in a small hole in the wall, one that Sta had more just for him. His entire body shivers as he watches the figure slowly rise from the floor, but can only spot it’s boots from the ground.
“Ah, another one of you guys.” Az seems more disappointed then scared, really. “The wizard hire you? Old man, grey beard, you know the typical wizard stuff? Also extremely grumpy and loud. Okay clearly you’re not here to talk.”
Bun peeks out of the hole to find the figure not quite towering over her, a knife pressed against her throat carefully. Half of its face is covered with a mask, and Bun can quickly spot where Az had gotten it once before with her knife. It’s nothing but silver metal and wires. “Well, if you’re gonna kill me, at least do it now?”
Before the robot’s arm can move to swipe, Sta does what any smart person would do and throws water over the robot which causes there to be a loud hissing noise as it backs up, gripping over the spot where the wires are clearly visible. “Take that you hunk of metal!”
“You dick.” It finally talks, and it’s voice is low as it covers it’s open wound, looking over at Sta with it’s eyebrows furrowed. “I’m just doing my job.”
“Your job includes killing one of my good friends, and I’m sorry I’m gonna have to stop you.” Sta throws the bucket back over by the sink, looking at the new creature standing in her living room. “Money? Is that what you want? Cause I’m sure I can give it to you.”
The robot shakes its head, reaching into a bag and pulling out something that looks close to a disk, that purrs low as the robot shows it. “Not that it should matter, but he promised me he’d fix Rover.”
“You named it Rover?” Bun suddenly speaks up, and the robot already takes a disliking to him as he hops out of the shadows, “anyways if someone can do the handy work for me, I can tell you how to fix it.”
Everyone looks at him in awe, and the robot speaks up first, “you’re just an animal though, how could something like you fix something like this?”
“Put it on the table Robo-bitch, and Az you be my hands and lift me up there.” Bun would roll his eyes if he was able to, looking back over at the robot and finally getting a good look at it. It’s features do not resemble male or female, and it’s clothing are something he’s never seen before. Maybe it was a robot thing to hide yourself, he couldn’t tell. “I promise you, I’ll fix your disk so you won’t have to go around thrashing knives with knife wielders, and getting buckets of water thrown on you, alright?”
With that Az lifts him on the table, and he look over it a couple of times nodding his head. “Alright, let's get down to business.”
The robot carefully puts the circular device on the table, watching over it before turning to the rabbit with gleaming in it’s eyes, “call me Robo-bitch again and I’ll turn you into stew.”
