The Doctor had presented a calm, collected yet half-bothered demeanor. At least, up until this audacious upstart manifested in his office, laying claim to the doorway like some insufferable barricade. He felt his heart leap out of his chest, THRICE -- and God knows he didn’t need that with his age. It's not the shock that does him in, however: it's the fact this newcomer shares a striking resemblance with a nemesis now off the map. Offence aside, the fear a Despair could have located this place rattles his resolve, and he pushes from his chair, rising straight to his feet in fear. Where did he put that blasted gun -- ❝ SONIC?! ❞

Then, a pause. Wait. No. Goddamn it, not this nonsense again. This scene rings familiar in his head as he takes in the appearance of his target, and his hand, having scrambled for a weapon, lowers slightly. This isn't Sonic. This isn't HIS Sonic, anyway. He knew Enoshima dabbled with multiversal technology -- or rather, HIS multiversal technology ( TURNS OUT SHE STOLE MANY THINGS FROM HIM, THE UNGRATEFUL BRAT ) -- but he thought that went out of commission the moment she left this Earth.

❝ OUT of the blasted door, you FOOL. And CLOSE it. Before anyone sees us. God knows I've screamed out my throat already. ❞ Certainly, he's figured this isn't his Sonic -- but if ANYONE else came by they'd think he were fraternizing with the enemy, and he had enough suspicion under his belt. ❝ I'm this organization's Chairman, yes. Sonic was MORE than okay. The plans to save this cursed world were coming along quite smoothly - and he was more than a little excited for the bigger cogs to start turning. The thought of this world burning in utmost despair made him giddy, put him in such a good mood. Which is why, when he was snapped out of his thoughts, he really couldn’t lie as he answered:
