Prefinishing has arrived!! @petervblock is applying some oil/varnish to the interior of his cabinet which means he must be getting close to the glue-up! Federico, one of the Residents in our 10 week Maker Program, is dry fitting the lower shelf on his cabinet. He did this through mortice and tenon joinery and absolutely nailed it! A perfect fit in what can sometimes be a difficult joint. This morning, Tiffany started resawing her 8/4 Purple Heart planks... yes, that's 2" Purple Heart! We tried to convince her to use 4/4 stock but she insisted on these. Lots of resawing to do but I'm confident she'll make it. She's using the Frame Saw she made during her first 10 week program. It has Bad Axe hardware and is ebonized white oak.
