these abilities start to manifest at around the age of 6

there are powerful and wealthy families who rule each side of the magical spectre

the Moriyama’s are one of the most powerful black magic wielders 

there are also non-magical people

the people who can weild black magic can also weild white magic if they want to

white magic wielders can’t do that

marry refuses to use her black magic to hurt people like nathan so she takes neil and runs

after that things happen mostly the same(except they’re more magical)

there are schools both for magical and non-magical people

neil has been to both types while on the run

after his mother’s death he ends up at a magical school in millport

even though his mother told him to abandon magic

wymack sees that he’s quite talented and wants to recruit him for his team

every magical college has a team of the best magic wielders(and who have special abilities) and they compete in tournaments against other colleges

some people have a special ability (apart from the magic) (These are things that people cannot do with regular black or white magic)

neil can shape shift

andrew can stop time

nicky can weild fire
