Red bits carry no meaning - they only tell the computer the position in the character and its length.
Black bits are the actual character, so the binary number given by reading them in order gives the Unicode number of the character.

Today my partner and I went to the public library two blocks down the street. It had been closed ever since we moved to this apartment due to covid, so we were eagerly waiting for this moment!
We wandered around for a while and then sat down on a nice secluded table to read. After that we decided to leave since it looked like it was going to rain, and thank god we did because it started to rain as we were walking back home and right after we arrived it really started pouring!
We couldn't resist going in the gift shop before leaving though, and I ended up getting that gorgeous dragon bookmark (no regrets)!
We got our library cards and checked out our first books! As you can see, I got a book about the history of videogames because I am a very predictable nerd :)
