i don't know if you reblogged the top 5 thing but i'm actually wondering bc you're a writer and all - who are your 5 fave authors and what are your 5 fave pieces of work (books, poems, etc?)
i did not reblog it but for u i will answer anything🖤
five favorite writers:
1. lemony snicket - one of my favorite series of books are a series of unfortunate events and i love his style of writing it's just so so so good
2. mary shelley, specifically for frankenstein. it's one of my favorite "classics" and I love her how she uses different pov's to get the point across
3. suzanne collins - not to be basic, but i think she was ahead of her time for this series. she has literally inspired a whole generation by her books and her ability to make characters so life like is insane. also as far as im aware, an uproblematic queen. literally hundred of spinoffs and other books series were created because of this series, and like, utter goals man. she completely transformed the dystopian genre.
4. jennifer niven - all the bright places shattered me and it's a book I've never forgotten and for that, she gets this place
5. i know I've named zero poets, and i love poetry so I apologize, but I generally get poetry collections by a myriad of poets, so I want to give them a place but there's just so many so they go here 🖤 to all the poets who poet. (robert frost, emily dickinson, rupi kaur, william shakespeare, jenny zhang, I luv u all)
5 Favorite Works:
ok so, not based on the authors I've said above because that'd be naming the same things over and over (this is in no particular order)
1. Olive's Ocean by Kevin Hankes
2. Girl, Interrupted by Susanna Kaysen
3. The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson
4. One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus
5. the 'Gone' series by Michael Grant
i feel like I would not to do a whole separate one in itself of poetry. i might. stay tuned.
