thoma, who's pining hard for a shrine maiden. a beautiful creature, with foxy features but a kind smile. yae miko, her mentor, imparting her mischievous wisdom upon her in a way no other mentor could. the shrine maiden, completing her duties diligently, with care and grace. 

rerir is no stranger to what it means to have loved and have lost.

he knows it intimately, and for that, it is certainly something he does not wish to repeat. he treats matters of the heart like a story long forbidden, locked up in a place he'd rather never revisit, pages bound and shut.

he's certain they will never open again.

so, tell him, why is it that those pages desperately want to unfurl when he is faced with the sight of you, glancing up at him, a little smile playing on your face? why is it that a heart he thought could not be moved budges with the feeble strength of the look you send his way?

beyond that, it is the stasis that gets him.

where your face is impossibly close, all the colors that swirl in your eye crystal clear, where the flow of the world halts in its tracks. his body angles towards yours in a way that blurs boundaries, rendering them in messy haze.

your noses almost touch, and in a way, it is that sliver of space remaining between them, that pause where neither of you makes a move, that drives him closer to throwing caution to the wind.

his gaze drops to your lips without his control, tracing the shape of it in his mind, and to pull away feels like bearing the crushing weight of the sky. they stay there, affixed, but he will not move. not until you do.

well, then. in that case, i suppose you'll just have to do something about it, won't you?
