American Ministry of Energy furnishes funds of 20 million and mixes the electric automobile battery to study
American Ministry of Energy announce recently, Ministry of Energy furnish funds of 20 million strengthen to plug-in to mix electric automobile (PHEV) Research. Among them Ministry of Energy enters into an alliance with American advanced battery (USABC) Research and develop cooperation 17,200,000 dollars of project investment to 5 PHEV batteries, and separately offer nearly 2 million dollars to Michigan university and engaged in research of PHEV in the future.
It aims at solving the problem that PHEV commercialization exist in battery that this batch researches and develops the project, especially battery service life and manufacturing cost. Add the match fund of the advanced battery alliance of U.S.A., it is 38 million dollars that the project is always put into. If the concrete specification about project is still passed by the Congress in discussing, this batch of projects will begin this fiscal year, is over in 2009 fiscal years.
It is reported, PHEV has potentiality of more than 40 miles of mileage of using the battery to go, can meet most requirements of course of driving on and off duty of every day of American family.
