New video!
The United States turns 250 years, but the land it occupies has been inhabited long before. This story is about the native American explorer Moncacht-Apé of the Yazoo people. He made the first recorded round-trip across the North American continent about 300 years ago, but there were probably people like him long before that.
The first journey begins in the Yazoo homeland in the southern Mississippi region. It goes upstream and northeast towards Wabanaki territory and the east coast. The second journey goes to the west, through the plains, over the mountains and down towards the west coast.
Crowdsourcing American Icons!
Hello, I am compiling a list of inspiring Americans who shaped our culture. From arts to activism to inventions to medicine. The only requirement is that they must have been a legal resident in the US sometime during their life (immigrants, green-card holders, etc, are all welcome 👍).
PLEASE DROP YOUR AMERICAN HEROES.
Serious responses only, please 🙏
I am especially looking for influential** Americans from the 18th and 19th centuries.
**I am only including influential individuals who were Not Bad People. Yeah, Thomas Jefferson might have shaped America but he sucked so he's not an icon.
