Food run
Another nice run completed. After emptying the shelves of this little superette, Makoto took a soda break and enjoyed a good 7 years old orange crush. The bubbles were long gone and the taste was...interesting to say the least, but it was better than drinking stale plastic water. He would have to boil the latter to make it less toxic, at least, aluminium cans weren’t known to erode with time like plastic did. Once he was done, he crushed it and threw it in the nearest trashcan. Throwing his full bag of food and medicines over his shoulder, he started trekking his way back to the town he and the rest of Shinoa’s squad had taken shelter.
Since the events at Nagoya, Narumi had taken a lot of responsibilities upon himself. Being the elder of the group, he was the one who did most of the hunting and food runs while he left the kids behind to take care of the villagers and Yuu, which still had to fight his demon from time to time. Two food runs a day and three when everything went well. Maybe he’d have time for a third if he returned quickly and without horsemen slowing him down
Narumi started jogging, increasing slowly the rhythm until he was at full speed. It’s only when he saw a flash of white that he froze in horror and entered a back alley. Did he just saw a vampire uniform?
Panting, he risked looking behind the wall hiding him. There was definitely a vampire there and a progenitor at that. The outfit the man was wearing was fancy enough that Makoto knew this wasn’t a grunt or a low ranked bloodsucker. His hands tightened on Genbushin and he took a few silent steps back, hoping to find his way out of this without the vampire noticing his presence.
