Urban Echo

Bringing physical spaces together through technology spanning great distance brings people together through this interactive proposal. I would love to see this implemented in cities. Leveraging what people do every day with Skype and Twitter, then placing it in public spaces to depersonalize it makes this project stand out a unique idea. 

Recently a group of us Postgrad Vis Commers were visiting the institute up at Forres and they showed us their lab with several decommissioned "talk boxes". They were originally used for an event that was happening simultaneously all over the world - so people could interact with each other as if they were bumping into one another. We thought this would be a perfect fit for the slightly disconnected urban campus at GSA. More closed off than Urban Echo (the school is not a public place), it might still encourage collaboration across the different practices. Even if this collaboration is in the form of visual pranks. Might be a good idea to revisit it. 

Bonus points for using an audio clip from Event Horizon in the beginning.
